This case is all I could ask for and more. The inside of the case is hard, while the outside has a rubberized grip so I don't accidentally drop the phone. It snaps on tight, and is very secure. In fact, I had to use a bottle opener to pry it off. This could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how often you want to remove your case. I paired this with a Realook screen protector, and the case keeps it from peeling at the edges. Overall awesome product, and does not add much bulk at all! Based on the reviews I read, the first thing I attempted to do when I recieved this case was disassemble it again. I agree the case snaps tight (a plus normally) and if you are trying to open it incorrectly it is next to impossible. However, there is a cut-out on the right hand side below the power button which is meant to be the access point for breaking it open. Put my fingernail in there and pop-a-rini! Came right apart. No problem there. As far as the quality?? Well this isn't my first smart phone and I am particular about my cases, but frugal if I can be...This case is just right. It fits snug, and has a "velvety" feel for being a hard case. It looks sharp and covers everything that isn't needed to actually use the phone. Everything is perfectly aligned. A great case at an unbeatable price! So, there's my $.02 for what it is worth.
This is a really good snap on case for the money. I used to have an iPod and purchased a black incase hard case with it. The $35 incase case got scratched up within the first day of using it. This case hasn't scratched much at all. To the people saying you cant take it off without breaking, be more careful. I take mine off all the time to clean my phone. On the left side there is a little indention that you can pull up on and that is there to remove the case more easily.
I really do like this cover. Fits snug and the phone is held tight with no slopping around. Seems like it will offer some decent protection when I drop the phone. I do like the texture of the case. Tacky enough to get a grip, but not so sticky it's hard to get in/out of a pocket. To address some complaints about removing the case I must say it is NOT hard to take it off without breaking it. Simply slip a dime in the slot next to the microphone hole and twist. The case will pop open and you can continue working the dime around until the case comes all the way off. I suppose I can see how some people have broken these by just ripping them off. Great case especially considering how much they cost! Don't gamble on one from ebay.
I bought this case because I needed something to quickly tide me over until finding the "perfect" case. It was cheap and expectations were low. But it's actually a very decent case; I may end up keeping it on permanently. I have 2 of these for 2 Fascinates.
The case is snug enough, the phone does not wiggle inside. There's a slot to aid separation, but I wouldn't remove the case regularly. The tabs hold the case together very well, but they are thin (not cheap thin...just as you'd expect for this type of design) so you do want to exercise caution. I could see repeated separation's wearing/cracking the tabs.
All cutouts for buttons and ports are slightly over-sized so there are no problems with interference. Camera cutout is exact. All cutouts work well and look good. You can feel a slight edge on the seam between front and rear halves in a couple spots, but has no effect on functionality or looks. The rubbery plastic/paint is fairly smooth and doesn't stick lint very much.
Hint: put strips of electrical tape on the back case of your phone (battery cover edges). This can help protect the phone and makes the case even a little more snug. Not needed for this case, but is a tip you can use for any phone/case if needed or want to protect the phone's plastic even further or to snug it up. Don't use too much - just a few short pieces in key areas.
For the Fascinate - I think the case adds the right amount of thickness to hold the phone. Its not anywhere near bulky, pretty much perfect size.
Very good case. Definitely recommend. This case can be had for <$5 out the door on Amazon for many phones. I've seen $20-30 hard-shells which are NO better than this one. Solid 4-stars.
I wouldn't recommend these cases. The price is right but you get what you pay for. I bought two of these cases and they were both broken within one week. Couldn't handle being put in a pocket or purse. Also, the coating started to rub off on both of them. Do not recommend.
I love my Samsung Fascinate, but can we say "flimsy"? Its plastic is very light, but the phone itself is terrific.
This case is absolutely wonderful, and almost satisfies my iPhone envy. It gives bulk to the phone, and the rubberized texture ensures that I can hold it even if my hands are sweaty. All of the exterior controls and ports are accessible - the cover doesn't interfere in the least.
I've used both silicone and leather cases in the past, and (I know this sounds sooo cheesy) but I really feel that this one is the best I've ever used for a phone.
Any cons would be that once it's on, it's harder than hell to remove, and you'll probably have to use a device (I used a metal cuticle stick because it's thin), and be very careful about snapping everything into place. That's not the cover's fault ... that was me. The cover was meant to go on once and stay there.
