Usb Hub - 4 port usb hub, portable

Bought this to carry along with my Macbook Air, it worked fine initially but now two of the 4 ports don't work! In effect it only adds one additional port the one that I already have on my Air (this still doubles my USB port capacity but is hardly what I was looking for)

At the current price it's not even worth the hassle of following up with the manufacturer and sending back for service. I'd recommend this Belkin Hub instead. IOGEAR 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub GUH285 (Black)

I'd give negative stars if I could.

Died within one month of purchase. Similar to other posts, power light worked, but could not recognize drives. Could be it's not compatible with Vista, but to date the company has admitted no such conflict. I contacted IoGear about fixing the product. They told me to ship it to them, I did. Shame on me, I assumed they'd cover the shipping for a product that was well within the "3 year limited warranty." Though they never mentioned anything about "buyer's burden" in any of three emails or two phone calls prior to shipping, once I received the "fixed" item back, I was told IoGear does not cover the cost of shipping ($15), even if the defect is covered by their warranty agreement. This was after ignoring 2 more emails, stonewalling me through 2 more phone calls and 30 minutes of "on hold" time. Absurdly, the only people who could refund my money are the "Design Team," who are apparently always out of the office, not surprising, given the quality of product.

On another note, I took the "fixed" item out of the box 5 days ago. This morning it stopped working.

This ioGear 4-port hub is probably doing more to pollute the earth than all your Hummer cars out there today.

Seriously, the device failed after 7 weeks of ordering, brand new from Amazon. Granted, it was only $7, still...not worth it for less than 2 months of use. Probably have to pay some disposal tax 'cause this thing is made outta' shatty GARBAGE!!

Many ants and fruit flies outlast the IoGear 4-port hub. FAIL!!1!4

Like the others have written, this device stopped working for me after several months. Since I don't have the sales receipt anymore, it's not worth the effort of trying to get Iogear to fix it.

Either Iogear's design or their quality control is worthless. Whichever the case, I'll never buy another Iogear product again.

This is a terrible item. It gets hot and after an hour or two it will suddenly stop working on some of it's ports. I see my USB disks disconnect. then they reconnect after a minute or so. They may stay connected for abother hour then disconnect again. Sometimes when you touch the device they disconnect. It's not the cable or the disks cause this does not happen when they are connected directly.

I bought this because the form factor was attractive. But I wish now I had read the reviews first as it looks like most people are having the same kinds of problems with this.

DONT BUY IT!!

Do not buy, it will not work with a wireless usb adapter on your notebook, I got this to use with a mouse and to have use of my wireless internet at the same time, since I do not like the mouse on my notebook! after the cable man set up my wireless internet on my notebook and pluged in the usb hub! and the mouse to it my internet, "it took a life time to look up my login information" so he said this type of "HUB 2.2 will not work with a wireless-G adapter, after he took it off my internet came up like a bolt of lighting! you will waste your money if you buy this one.

My laptop only has a couple ports on it and I use multiple hard drives so I was hoping this would be a sort of hard drive docking station. It works great as that, but the wire from the device to the computer is so short its often in the way.

I bought this through another vendor, but it's the same product. It seems like a solid piece of construction, though the design is a little wonky. The cable from the device to the computer is so short that it's barely suitable for any computer that doesn't have a front USB port. Still, it worked great for the time that it worked at all.

Now the light still comes on, but nothing else plugged into it receives power or shows up on the computer.

Buyer beware.

I bought this hub a few months, and its never been used. Simply being- it does not support USB 2.0. If your looking to use current devices avoid this at all costs. If your just looking for any ol' hub for USB 1.1 devices, you could probably do just as well or better elsewhere. while its nice that the USB cord tucks into the plastic housing, it feels cheap and the devices longevity is questionable. - Usb - 4 Port Usb Hub - 2009 Amazon Frustration-fre - Portable'
