This screen worked as well as I could have hoped. It was fairly easy to install (with the aid of a YouTube video) [...]. I was worried that I might damage the screen while installing it. My fears were put to rest when I noticed that it had a pretty thick protective film on it to be removed prior to installing the digitizer (glass top). This was a good, inexpensive fix. I needed an LCD because I wasn't careful when reparing mine and cracked the original, so I got this. I won't say it was a mistake, because now my iPod works again, but it's not as good as the original screen. There is a noticable distortion if you were to move the ipod up and down. I think it has to do with the refresh rate of the lcd. Either way, it's there, but this is still good if you can ignore that.
This product is amazing!When I saw that it cost up to $99 at some places to replace my itouch's lcd screen due to the backlight dying, I took it upon myself to fix it myself. For less than $15 I was able to replace my screen and make my itouch work like new again. Love this screen for saving my itouch!!! There are several videos online showing you how to fix it and honestly the hardest part was just getting the digitizer off (first step), after that it was a breeze to fix.
Received this LCD screen, it was cracked at the top right side of the screen. Was going to return it, but my kids (boys) thought it looked cool, and had a cool design. Will eventually replace it or just all togehter get a new iPod. It works now (but the digitalizer was broken so had to order a new one). Other than that, it was quick to install (watched a YouTube video to help me).
This is my second LCD ordered from this retailer. Both screens came shattered because they include tools and package the tools right against the LCD with no padding in between. Not to mention the whole package is surrounded by only one layer of bubble wrap and then sandwiched in a tight fitting cardboard sleeve. LCD's are delicate pieces of electronics...Amazon should know better.
I broke my LCD screen while trying to replace the front glass. Therefore I had to order the LCD screen. I had bad luck with the glass. It did not work when I installed the new one, so I for sure thought that the LCD would not work either. Today I received the LCD screen and a new front glass for my ipod. Hubby installed it. After he was done I tried to use it but it had black screen and it wouldn't do anything. I hooked it up to my computer and it worked. Turns out that the battery was dead. This product is perfect. I am so happy. I love my ipod and I was devastated when it broke. I would not hesitate to purchase this product. Its FINE!!!
It had no dead pixles or anything at all! when i got it, it came with tools to fix also and it was so tightly packaged that i knew nothing could go wrong! hurray for triple layer of bubble wrapping! It was easy to install. Only thing is that you gotta keep the metal backing from your original lcd. they don't give you one. It may look like it in the picture but there's no provided.
I broke the glass on my 2nd Gen iPod Touch, which also cracked the LCD in the process. I purchased this LCD along with Apple ipod Touch 2nd Gen Digitizer + Chassis Bezel + Pre Assembled. Received at my office, and with the provided tools, I had the old parts out and the new ones installed in a little over 10 minutes. The LCD display is as good as OEM, in my opinion.
I had bought this item to replace my screen and frame. After I had bought it I found out there was no frame with this package, so I called up the seller and after a bit of talking he sent me the full assembly with frame and screen.
