The replacement was exactly as advertised. If you have a blackberry with the traditional trackball and you are having issues, do yourself a favor and save the cost of the upgrade to a new phone. Buy this trackball replacement and then go online to see the many video instructions available. this under $10 purchase just gave my BlackBerry new life! and saved me the cost of the upgrade to a new phone. This product was perfect for what I needed! The only flaw is making sure that you don't crack or hit the tabs that hold in the ring putting it in. It created a new phone for me without the brand new price!
It works but the navigating experience is no where near as good with this replacement as it was with the original part. Just not smooth and sometimes misses input. I've now purchased a $4 version and this $12 version. I'm going to now get the OEM replacement so in the end, I was trying to save a few bucks but it ended up costing me more.
I purchased this black trackball because I thought it would look cool in my BlackBerry Curve 8330 and it did. Unfortunately it didn't perform as well as it looked. After about a week I couldn't scroll up so I took it out and put my OEM trackball back in. Problem solved. I wouldn't recommend this item as it didn't perform well.
Surprisingly, this replacement trackball did not work well on my Blackberry Curve 8320. The ring would not go on and the ball was jumpy. Plus, note the ball is black, not the OEM white.
