The screen protectors are cut to fit the phone as stated, but it would be better if they were about 1mm smaller in each dimension as it's very difficult to exactly line up the protector within the screen borders, and failure to do so leaves huge air bubbles around the edges. A 0.5mm border around each edge would still adequately protect the screen and give more leeway for installation.
I burned thru 3 of them, not getting them quite lined up properly or getting many air bubbles and attempting to peel and re-stick, only to have dust stuck to the sticky side and had to throw them away. I will take some of the blame, as this is my first time installing screen protectors on a smartphone, but my frustration is compounded by the difficulty fitting and lining them up as stated above.
On this 4th one, there is one tiny speck of dust creating an air bubble near the bottom (outside of the screen viewing area) which I can live with, but there is a 5/8" x 1/8" air bubble in the upper left corner of the screen that constantly reappears no matter how many times I press it out. So I will probably swap it with the last screen protector within the next couple days, and be willing to pay more next time if that one doesn't work out either -- possibly a lot more at my local phone store if they will install it for me. 5x Samsung Captivate SGH-i897 Premium Clear LCD Screen Protector Cover Guard Film, no cutting is required! I was a bit hesitant to make this purchase due to my past with protective screens, but I'm glad I did. I followed the instructions and it worked on the first try. There are two films that cover the protector; the second one is a little trickier to get off, but if you look around the corners, you'll likely find a spot. Don't use the tab on this one- I almost took the protector off, and that would have been a real pain.
There is one teeeeny tiny air bubble, it's covered by my phone's case which doesn't bother me at all. All in all, I made an awesome buy that applies easily to protect my phone from scratches, and I couldn't be happier.
This screen protector fits good and it works but it creates a lot of glare and for some reason it seems to collect grease and sweet. I really don't like these screen protectors. I'm going to pay the 15 dollars and have it done professionally because these just aren't that good.
It took a good while for the item to be delivered, and once opened, I realized there was only one screen protector in the package (Reason for 3 stars) . The protector however, is quite tough and fits just right. One great little thing on the protector is that there are two films to remove; one to stick the protector to the phone, and one on the surface-to-be-touched. The second film has a tab that comes in handy. The purpose of the second film is so that you are able to adjust/remove the protector accordingly and be able to rub out any bubbles. Be sure to keep the surface film on until you are satisfied with the positioning and bubbles, or lack thereof.
I would not justify this product to even have a star. First it would not sit properly on the face. Then when I tried to clean it with the cloth it came with it put swirl marks on the protective screen. So even though I got it on it still looked like crap because it was already all scratched. I would not recommend this product to my dog to chew on. I had to go and pay $15.99 for a proper screen protector.
As stated they do fit my capivate perfectly, but the edges will not stay attached about 1/4 inch from the edge around 40 % of the screen. I guess you get what you pay for. they were really CHEAP !I did send an email to the seller and was promised replacements on April 15th 2011. It is now May 24th and no replacements or further replies from seller. May 25th recieved replacements from seller as promised free of charge. They must be from a different production batch, these apply easier with no air bubbles and are staying applied better than last batch. Upgraded my review from 2 to 4.
Screen protector woks just great, am still on the first one, which has been on since original purchase date and delivery.
