In general pretty well, especially given the price. THe only thing that is annoying (and you can totally know that beforehand, so it really is my own mistake), is that you have to take your phone out of the case (or the bumper) in order to put it in. But once it's in, I really like it.
THE GOOD
+ The suction cup with the clasp-thinger that sticks the cup on there worked great and I had no issues getting it on the windshield and having it stay there, even on bumpy roads.
+ The long swivel gave me plenty of options for where and how to mount on the rather long, extended dashboard/windshield of my honda fit.
THE BAD
+ The iPhone 4 never quite fit into the two clips as snugly as shown in the picture. Usually one of the two corners would pop in, and the other would only be partially in there. It was still enough to hold the phone in place, but it never looked very secure.
THE UGLY
+ 4 days after purchasing, I went to snap my phone in place, but the aforementioned poor-fit seemed to have overstressed the corner clips, snapping one off completely. In the trash it went.
Nice product, but if you have a cover on your iPhone4, you must remove it or it won't fit in the holder. Also, the shaft is a bit short unless your windshield is close to your face. Mine was too far away. So, I swapped the holder for another by Kensington with a much longer shaft. The grip accepts and releases the phone easily, and is wide enough to hold my phone even with the cover attached. There are many to choose from. Read the info carefully.
I use my iPhone 4 with no case and a SquareTrade warranty in case I drop it, and so this works perfectly. It's cheap and it snaps in securely but not so tight that it's hard to get out. I've tried several mounts and unfortunately there simply aren't a lot of quality ones for the iPhone like there are for the Droid X when I had it. For the money, you can't go wrong with this one.
I wanted something lightweight with a small footprint to carry with me when I travel. While I have to remove my iphone4 case to insert it in the unit, it has functioned flawlessly for the past 9 months. It is a minor inconvenience in order to have a unit that is so portable. Unfortunately, I forgot mine in a rental car last week....guess what? I ordered another one.
This product gets the job done. PERIOD.
I haven't had any durability issues at all, it sucks to the window, it stays in place. My only comment would be that, the arm, might be TOO STIFF. But hey, that's a good thing right? It's simple to use and install.
The only downside, is that when I mount it on my 4Runner, if I drive faster than 75 MPH, the thing starts to vibrate up and down a lot. My solution has been to afix a rubber washer to my dash and let part of the mount rest on it. Problem solved.
But BUY IT! It's a good deal.
while this product lasted it was good. but there was the fault. this product really barely lasted a month after losing its stick. it's a challenge and practically impossible now to leave the suction in place with out it falling of. it's a shame because it was really good and helpful. - Iphone Mount - Car Mount - Iphone 4 - Windshield Mount'
