If you own a Samsung phone and you use it as an mp3 player as well, like I do, you know that they have those annoying slot style ports to plug in your headphones. I can only imagine that this is done to generate more sales of accessories. This type of adapter was for sale at the phone store for more than $15.00. The hands-free device ear buds were even more. But, here it is for $3.00!
Does it work? Absolutely. Worth every penny.

Its cheap and it works. The sound is nice, and is pretty much the only work-around for the stupid ports samsung included in their phones. If you plan on using this adapter for a car or home audio system, then great. I would however seriously advise against using it as an alternative to an mp3 player. The connector will fall out constantly. I could barely put my phone into my jacket pocket without having the connector fall out of the phone.This adapter will break very easily if moved around and pulled on slightly. I've bought 2 of these on 2 different occasions and they both broke within the first week of use.
This product being the only way to use your samsung phone as a mp3 player. I guess your stuck with this one. At least it only costs you 3 dollars. My advice is to buy a couple. You will go through them.
The order was received in a couple of days; it worked as expected. It only had audio out so you need to disconnect to receive a call. The only complaint was that the picture showed a 90 degree adapter but I received a straight piece.
I purchased this item because of the orientation of the wire shown in the photograph. The photo shows the wire at a 90 degree angle from where the plug inserts into the phone. I believe that this would protect it more. However, the one that I received was not as pictured and the wire attaches directly in-line with the plug. I guess I'll never know whether the version in the picture would have been better, but the item I received broke in less than 24 hours...I guess in this case, you get even less than you paid for.

Cons:
1) does not fit snugly into the socket - have to jiggle around
2) feels flimsy and expect it to break anytime soon
3) when connected
- does not allow bluetooth connection so headset gets disconnected
- does not allow you to have phone conversation
I ordered 2 of these items and they shipped something totally different, then they shipped the right item but neither of them worked. One of them was broken, and the other one didnt pass sound wouldnt buy from here again. although they were kind enough to give me a refund thats good.
I got this product, and it fell apart the first 2 days that I had it. The sound always cut in and out.
It was terrible, the usb part that goes into your phone came apart in my hands. I always had to snap it back together, then the wires inside it fell apart.
Terrible, and not worth the money you supposedly 'save' with buying this product.
In fact, you'll wind up spending more because you have to buy a new one!!!

I only wanted to use my phone for an MP3 player, not as headset or anything, so I picked this up. OK. It was cheap. I understand that. But it only worked for about a day. Really kind of made me mad, but what can you do? You only spent $5 on it. Sticks out quite a bit, after about five minutes (can't remember how much I'm exaggerating here) it started acting like there was a short in the wire or something and would choose for itself when I could hear the music. Finally just threw it away and bought an MP3 player.
i bought this for a friend of mine who has the samsung blackjack 2.Unlike other wired headsets, when you use this you cannot plug it in before or after a call. you have to call someone, and then plug it it during the call.whent he call ends you must remove it becuase when you are not talking anyone, the adapter has a bad habit of constantly redialing and hanging up over and over and over.I am not sure if its the adapters fault or the phones but i dont recommend this. use a bluetooth instead or get a new phone( or cell providor) - Headphone Adapter - Samsung Accessories - Propel Accessories - Earphones'
