Computer Remote - media center, media center remote

...it's as simple as that. Can't really give a product that doesn't work anything higher than 1 star. Plugged the USB cable in, and nothing. Tried it on another computer, and nothing (one computer was Windows 7 64 bit, the other was 7 32 bit). Tried to have Windows detect and add new devices, and nothing.

As another review noted, my unit looked to be used as well. HP OEM Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate Edition

Super-impressed by this little device. Controls the functions of the media center perfectly - volume, channels, access to videos, music, etc. Includes an IR blaster cable for anyone using a cable box / TV tuner.

I'm using this with a Win7 computer hooked up to a flat screen TV as an entertainment center for the apartment. This allows me to conveniently control the media center functions, making it much more like a television.

Physically this is built very solid with very responsive buttons.

One happy surprise worth mentioning: the power button on the remote works both to shut the computer down and start it up again. That may seem like a no brainer, but on an older computer that I have that came with a remote, the power button had only worked to turn it off. - Media Center Remote - Remote Control - Pc Remote - Media Center'
