Short and sweet: It fits and works perfect. For less than a dollar, I had zero expectations (in fact I ordered a few different covers at the same time in the hope that one would work out). After several weeks with this Samsung Hard Case I have found it to be durable and easy to hold. The suede outer coating gives the phone a very secure feel. The hard plastic 2-piece case offers good protection in the event of a fall and its raised edges give some protection against screen damage.
It's hard to type this review for this case, but it has to be done. Why is it hard to type? Because my nails are killing me. It's near impossible to take this case off once you get it on the phone. The "coin slot" is a joke, plus who wants to jam a metal coin in there?! Only a dime fits anyway. Maybe there is some trick I don't know about but it kills me that this is such a nice case otherwise but I CANNOT remove it easily so it cannot be recommended. I dunno HOW the other reviewers so "easily" removed the case, I would sure like to know, because my whole hand hurts now. I'm worried I may have damaged my phone trying to remove it. I'd easily give the case 4 stars if I could easily remove it, but I can't so I won't. Back to the little silicone case I don't really like.
The case was better than I expected, not to say it is flawless but it works. It fits the phone very well and has openings to access the necessary ports, buttons, mic, camera and speaker. The locking mechanism seems to be less than perfect, it may not lock in all the places it should and it is rather hard to open. If you change your external Micro SD card often or if you like using a backup battery you may have better luck with a silicone cover.
This case is great to avoid scratching the back of the phone and complements a screen protector, it gives basic protection with very little bulk added to the phone and almost no weight at all. The locking mechanism is on the flimsy side and may not withstand frequent opening and closing, furthermore, the procedure for unlocking the case is rather involved. Finally there is enough space left open that the back of the case will collect lint when the phone is held on a jean's pocket.
As other reviewers have remarked, this is not a rubberized case but just matte plastic, Clingo users may want to give it a try since it has a very smooth surface.
I think I paid a couple of bucks for this with free shipping, it fits my phone great and I really enjoy the feel of the rubberized plastic, but the rubberized coating is already wearing off after just a month of use. The rubberized coating is worn off all around the sides which gives it a two tone wore out look.
