I recently came across these very same hats at a local mall this past Christmas. As an avid walker and hiker, even in the dead of winter I am always looking for something a little warmer and more comfortable with the least amount of effort to put on, or carry along. For years there was the traditional knit hat, or toque that was on my list as standard equipment both for walking and hiking. That is until I tried one of these on at the mall this past holiday season and decided that they have easily incorporated into the design of these the 3 essentials necessary for keeping warm and comfy while braving the winters savage elements. A knit toque for the head, an extended ear flap to take care of the ears, and a visor for the very obvious reasons as to why we very often need one. Quite simply put, I found these hats to be far more warm and comfy than the traditional toque for surviving the long winter here in New England. Most of all, I wish that I had located the hats here before buying a couple at the local mall. They are not only cheaper here than what I paid, but as of the time of this writing, ship for free through Amazon. If you spend a lot of time outside in winter and desire the ultimate in head gear as far as warmth and convenience in my opinion, invest in two or more of these and be done for life. They are warm, comfy, and at the price they are asking for them with free shipping, its like you are buying them tax free and at cost from your local store, and having them delivered to your house for free... This hat is exactly what I needed. I don't like to carry umbrellas at work because I carry a tote and a purse. This is a great hands free way of keeping my face dry and the hat is nice and warm.

This cap is exactly what my husband wanted for the cold snowy winters of Chicago. He wanted an inexpensive knit cap with a visor that would keep his jacket hood from falling down over his eyes and without advertising a brand. This is doing the trick. Thank you!

WARNING: This seller selling "Irregular Hat". As the other 1 star reviewers noted, the cuff is only about 1/4" high above the visor, and looks ridiculous!!! Not as photo. This seller purchased cheap IRREGULAR merchandise and sell them. It should belong at dollar store sell at 2 for $1.

The hat arrived promptly, only four days after ordering it. It came in a Zip-Loc bag, and was in wearable condition straight out of the bag - it had no undesirable smell and was immaculately clean.



The hat itself is extremely comfortable - it is very easy to put on and stretchy. It fits even my abnormally large head comfortably without feeling tight. The visor is just the right size to serve its purpose without looking like a baseball cap. The cuff around the visor can be folded down to cover more of the head, though the hat already covers all fantastically. It is just warm enough to do the job, but not so warm that you'll be especially hot after an extended wearing. It also doesn't seem to cause as much hat-head as other hats do.



For the incredibly low price I got it at, this is an amazing product and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a reliable, high-quality winter hat.

As one other reviewer noted, the cuff is only about 1/4" high above the visor, and looks ridiculous. Not at all as pictured. Further, the hat is EXTREMELY tight (and I have a small head) from the forehead around back. This puts a lot of pressure on your head and mats your hair down unlike any other hat I've ever worn. Beyond that, ironically, it's loose and baggy on the top near the crown of the head, and looks like a sock (all folded over and saggy).



I understand it only costs a few bucks delivered, but is absolutely worthless. I simply cannot fathom the other reviews which say this is a good product. Mine went straight in the garbage.

Well, it's a knit cap. I think we've all seen at least one knit cap in our lives so there isn't much to report. I work in the field as an Appraiser and live in Texas so during our few weeks of winter (sorry, those of you in the frozen tundra of the North) I need something to protect my ears but think a standard knit cap provides too casual an appearance. I'm not quite old enough to get away with a fedora and not Texan enough to pull off a Stetson. Anyway, this visor cap fits the bill - warm ears but with a little more flare. It seems well made in that it hasn't fallen apart or turned my hair green, and the fabric is softer than the torture device called a watch cap which I had to wear in the Navy. As one reviewer wrote upon first putting it on two little horn-looking things appear on top but by moving it around a bit I'm able to smooth out the crown and it looks OK. The last thing I want to do is go into a store and start trying on caps, so ordering online is great and the price seemed like a deal to me. Amazon and little cap, my relatively warm ears thank you. I also played this game in the PC originally, and finished it. I HAD to. It ruined a semester of college for me, it's that addictive. You'll start playing, and 4 hours will literally pass by unnoticed. The combination of 1st person play, A.I., the ability to make choices that control your gaming experience, the intelligence and suspense of the story line and character development, and the sheer scale of the gaming enviornment make this the greatest game I have ever experienced. And yes, you don't simply play this game, you experience it. As much as I love Grand Theft Auto 3. it doesn't hold a candle to the intelligence and story line that Deus Ex offers a gamer. What you may find pathetic though... is I miss this game. I loved it so much, I MISS it. I've never found waiting for a sequel to a game so torturous in all my life. I miss this game so much, I plan on buying it for the PS2 and enjoying it again. Here's hoping I don't ruin another semester. Deus Ex: The Conspiracy

After HalfLife, Red Faction and Sons of Liberty I hardly expected to find another good FPS - instead I found THE FPS! Deus Ex is one of the very few games I recommend buying. Unlike most games, which can be finished in a couple of days, Deus Ex goes on and on, 24/7, and isn't pre-determined - it might be the only game that can be played totally differently by different players. Also, the graphics are great. They don't look all that impressive at first glance, but during gameplay you notice little details and even if you play for hours straight, you don't get that queasy feeling, usually associated with FPS's.There's an unbelievable amount of weapons and gadgets, but you have to choose which ones you want - you're limited to a certain amount of weapons on you at a time, which makes the game more interesting.Bottom line - YOU MUST BUY THIS GAME!

Having played the PC version of DEUS EX until my mouse hand was reduced to little more than a gnarled nub, I thought I was going to have a hard time remaining objective about the quality of the PS2 port. Often when a popular PC game is ported to a console, it loses its soul in the translation (see GIANTS: CITIZEN KABUTO). Ion Storm proved my fears to be unfounded. They've done a wonderful job with this one, including a flawless implementation of the PS2's controller that sees every single button used, and used quite well. The control is similar to other first-person games on the system; look with the right stick, walk with the left. The augs and skills are managed with the circle button, the inventory is managed with the square. Toggle crouch with the L3 button, reload with the R3. After about a half hour the control scheme becomes second nature. Beautiful.Most of the maps have been redone in order to take advantage of/compensate for the PS2's hardware capabilities/limitations. Some levels have been streamlined and improved, yet others feel cramped, and it becomes obvious that the developers were trying to squeeze every ounce of processing power out of the system, and make every one of its 32 Megs of RAM pull more than its own weight. Some textures aren't as sharp as they could be, but the lighting effects are awesome and the NPC animation is first-rate. Load screens are frequent (moreso than in the PC version), but they're quick. For those concerned about violence in video games; in a testament to the depth of gameplay, it's entirely possible to finish DEUS EX without killing a single person. For a challenge, try it on "realistic" difficulty, with auto-aiming off, playing non-lethal. Give this one a go if you're a fan of conspiracy-based first-person shooter-sneakers with heavy RPG elements. Haven't found any games like that for the PS2 yet? Buy DEUS EX: THE CONSPIRACY. It'll keep you busy for weeks.

This is one of the most exceptional games of this era in terms of plot and character development. The only begging thing sometimes is the music...now to the good parts. First, the AI of both the Mac and PC side was tricky -- sometimes exceptionally brilliant and sometimes NOT. Next, one gains skills (augmentations) along the way to further the character's development. This requires the gamer to put at least some thought into the character. Third, each kill can determine what happens next...friend or foe or somewhere in between. This adds some complexity to the plot. Fourth, this plot is basically a mixture of the X-Files conspiracies ranging from Roswell to the Illuminati, and like the X-Files, there are betrayals and breaks of trust everywhere along the way. Lastly, some of the weapons are exceptional -- like the Dragon Sword.Word of caution: Some of the AI gets really humorous at the end -- when the enemies start running into closed doors while you watch...and they keep on running...=)

After playing a PC demo of this game when it first came out a while back, I decided on a whim to buy it for PS2. I played a bit, then got wrapped up in the carnage of GTA3. I picked Deus Ex up again about a week ago, and I have yet to get a decent nights sleep since. Part shooter, part mystery, the violent types will love the myriad weapons and opportunities to kill and destroy. The stealthy types will love crouching in the shadows and sniping. This game has something for everyone, and should be included in every serious game collection.

There is only one word to describe this game.....AWESOME!! I rented it at first not knowing what to expect, but when I got home I wasn't disappointed. It has some serious plot and a very addictive style to it. The game will never let you down and is a definite contender for this year Game of the Year and the year just began.

When I play this game I can't help feel slightly disappointed by the fact that the PC version is so much better and that it is just a cheap port created because the developers felt like squelching more money out of the innocent people that are you and me. However, with that 'truth' aside, this game is an absolute masterpiece and no matter how rushed together this game is, it is still better than about 99% of games on the market today.



Graphics: 6/10

The graphics on the PS2 version of this game are only just above average. At first glance they look and feel smooth and textured. But, if you zoom into any of the objects in the game then you will realise that they are made up of pixels about the size of football pitches. As for the smoothness, it only takes a small gun battle with about two or three enemy soldiers and this game begins to freeze and ju... jum. p, jump.



Sound: 10/10

This is what first 'Wowed' me about the game, the music is incredible and is worthy of a Grammy any day... well actually, I wouldn't go that far, but it's still great. The music changes appropriately with the mood of the game e.g. if you are in an intense sneaking area then the music won't start blaring out some kind of heavy rock like in some games. The sound effects are top notch and the guns don't sound whim perish either.



Game play: 10/10

This is where the game really gets its place in the gaming hall of fame for me because it gives you so much choice and you can choose exactly how you play the game. You can upgrade your weapons using things like scopes, laser sights, silencers, extended mags and faster reload mods etc. You can also improve your character with character modifications. These include melee weapon skill upgrades, defence upgrades and rifle upgrades etc. In addition to this you can use special augmentation canisters which allow you to do a lot of things such as increase speed, increase jump height and reduce running noise etc. you choose which of these you use because, ultimately, its these choices which affect the way you play the game. Aswell as upgrading you're character, they're many routes you can take through the game and many different people you can talk too and different sides you can take. These choices also affect the outcome of the game. This is all very important because there are three different endings to choose from. Never before have I seen a game that has such diverse and dynamic game play as this.



Lifespan: 10/10

The first thing I noticed about this game was the fact it had no multiplayer. This was a down draw for me because it's usually the multiplayer, which keeps you going back to a game. However, the actual game is so long, it will take you ages to complete and, not only that but once you have completed it you will want to complete it again and again differently. The game also has a training mode, which will take away about, ewwww, 10 minutes of your time. Now that can't be bad can it?



Overall 10/10

Apart from the graphics this game is spectacular and well deserves all the hype it has received. It has won over 50 game of the year awards on the PC and deservedly so. Just remember, graphics don't make a game so go and buy this now.'

I must preface my review by saying I didn't buy the LG 450 online, I bought it at a big box store because they had a better price:



I wanted an inexpensive TV for the bedroom and the LG 450 is a good choice, the picture quality is very good for it's price. I didn't need 120Hz so I saved $150 by buying the 60Hz model. All LG TV's have Expert ISF Settings so you can have it professionally calibrated or do it yourself, it even has a built-in blue filter. The ATSC tuner is very powerful because I get all the local stations OTA with an indoor antenna. This model is not internet enabled so you need a set top box to get Netflix, etc. A word of caution though: when I got it home and calibrated the picture it still didn't look great, it takes about 12 hours of viewing for the display to "break-in". After watching the TV for a few days now the picture has improved dramatically. As with all TV's the sound isn't great but it does have bass and treble controls. The USB port supports: JPG, MP3, MPG, WMV, MP4. The manual states other video formats are supported but they wouldn't work on my TV.

I am so pleased with my purchase. This TV has great picture & sound. The menu is almost idoit proof! My husband and I like different settings when watching tv so changing options frequently has become so easy with this tv. We never found a better price for this model! I would highly recommend.

Just unboxed this TV and have been setting it up. The picture calibration tool is fairly nice, and so far things look good on the display.



The back panel connectors seem a bit cheap though in the sense that they're not mounted very firmly to the chassis. When I plugged in an HDMI cable, the whole connector board flexed a bit, though not enough to push the connectors all the way in to the chassis. Given that connector changes aren't very frequent, this probably isn't a big deal, but they could have used a few more screws and mounting stands to hold this important bit of the board to the back cover.



Overall, the TV is very light, which is nice now that I have to move it around and put it into my entertainment center. Looking forward to seeing how Blu-Ray movies look on this thing...

This HDTV was a great price and I give it Thumbs UP!!! It has excellent color, easy to setup and it has a great sound. This TV size fits perfectly in my bedroom.

I first purchased another popular brand Vizio 32" LED and it was not heavy to lift, it only weight about 4 or 5 lbs., but I was very unhappy with it. Maybe the one I received was defective, but I had to return it because the color looked faded on all channels and sound was terrible. The sound, sounded like you were in a tunnel.

I ordered the LG 32LK450 HDTV online and received Free Shipping for this particular model, which I had no idea that it would be FedEX overnight from the company I ordered it from. That was a plus for me, because my old TV died and I needed a new one right away. I'm very happy that I decided on LG 32LK450 model, after researching the Internet for reviews, and it showed good ratings. I did know that LG made great cell phones, but had no idea that their HDTV's were this good. LG gave me great customer service when I had some questions about the setup. I will be purchasing another LG HDTV for my 2nd bedroom in the near future.'

The charger has been working very well. The lighted indicator and fast charging rate are my favorites. I definitely love this charger. Works very well on white and grey 12v batteries. Mine is a grey battery Power Wheels 12-Volt Charger

This charger charged my son's power wheels within 3 hours to a full charge! Our orginal charger took about 12 hours to fully charge, but it quit working so we are so excited to have his truck driving again. I am very pleased with this product and the price I received!

We have two new power wheels 12 volt batteries. They take a charge just fine with the charger that came with them. I bought this so we could use it as a rapid charger and it would take less time for the batteries to charge. I plugged them in and waited a few seconds. Both batteries had the flashing red indicating the batteries were either a wrong battery or bad. This will not charge the batteries for me. All it does is sit there and blink red. But the batteries charge just fine with the original charger. How can they be bad batteries if they hold a charge and we get hours of play out of them on a full charge. Funny that. Makes me wonder if it is a marketing ploy for people to run right out and buy a new $50 battery to replace the "bad" one. If it would actually work to charge the battery then it would be great. But we cannot get past the red light with ours. It is going right back to the store!!! It might be slower but we will stick with our original charger from now on.

this item was to assist in charging the power wheels truck second battery. Our grandson drives his truck often and a second battery charging while he used the first battery was just the ticket. This item works as advertised. Great service, highly recommended. Stan

Great charger, we had an old battery and the lights on the charger told me it was bad...which took the guessing work out of wether I should throw the battery out or not. It doesn't take long to charge the batteries at all.

This is a great charger and works great! As in all the other reviews, use it as instructed and it will save the day! I love the indicator lights that tell you when it is 80% charged and when it is 100% charged (80% being "quick charged" and can only be done every other time). We have 2 power wheels vehicles that use this type of charger and it works for both. Best Finish Nailer

I posted this review over in the Hitachi MA2 version, a long standing favorite amongst the pros. I wanted to post it here as well considering it really is about the MA4. Here it is.



I've done/doing some professional woodworking and have a lifetime of experience. In air driven nailers I have Porter Cables upholstery stapler, their 23 gauge pin nailer, an 18 gauge, two of their 16 gauge nailers. I impulsively bought the Bostitch after reading the first page reviews, and then spent a couple of hours researching the Hitachi vs. the Bostitch. After comparing, this is what I found.



A lot of people are jumping on the Bostitch band wagon because it is the lightest at 3.8 pounds, it is dry as in no oil, and it has class leading 400 inch pounds of power. I was dazzled and bought right away. After digging deeper, I am refusing the Bostitch and getting the Hitachi. They both have the "durable composite magazine" (plastic) that holds the nails. The Hitachi with its aluminum housing only weighs .4 pounds more as in 4.2 instead of 3.8. That extra .4 is not going to make a difference. The oil issue is seemingly an advantage in that the Bostitch runs dry, but my other nailers are all oiled, and all I do is drive 2 or 3 nails into a piece of scrap to blow out the excess oil when first putting a couple of drops in the gun, and the rest of the time it is dry. Also the 400 pounds of torque is not an issue because the 15 gauge nailers have tons of power as compared to the 16 gauge, so much so that a small difference in power is irrelevant. When I borrowed a PC 15 gauge and first fired it, it went off with a POW instead of a pop like the 16. Substantially more power resulted in me being able to drive the nails into the tongue side of a 7/8" board deep enough that I didn't have to get out my center punch and tap it in the rest of the way; it drove deep and flush on the first try every time after setting it properly.



I am concerned about the many reviews that appear mostly all on the secondary pages on the Bostitch about having driver failure problems. Professionals who hit nails when driving a nail complain of having to go back and spend $35 to have the driver replaced every time they do. On the other hand the Hitachi has a ton of reviews many from deeply seasoned pro's that use it daily, for years, and never had a hiccup, other than an occasional, easily correctable nail jam. I'm using this right away on driving nails into crown moldings in a circa 1955 house with plaster walls, and the corners are all strengthened with lath wire so it is probable that I will be hitting metal more than just a few times. I don't want to worry about having to send it back to the shop to replace a driver every time I do.



This Hitachi NT65MA2 15 gauge has been updated twice. The 3 was out before in a lime green, and now the new item is the same model with a 4, as in NT65MA4. It has the same layout, but a slightly different look with the same industrial feel to it, and it is not lime green or gray, but silver. It appears that the main body is also a little bit larger.

The Bostitch is a fine tool but you will notice that the home hobbyist is praising it more and the pro's are booing it more. All you have to do is look down the review results and you will see the Bostitch has a wide spread review base with a liberal amount of 3's, 2's, and 1's as well as the 4's and 5's. The Hitachi is mostly 5's, and some 4's with no 3's, 2's, or 1's at all. That's quite a drastic difference. With reviews going all the way back to 2004 that is quite a lot of time for someone to hate the tool, and nobody does.



I wanted to say that the MA4 is only available at the time of writing this review through an Amazon merchant and not an Amazon in stock item, but I am sure Amazon will be picking it up directly soon. That was another decision I had to make. Do I buy the older tried and true, super reviewed MA2 model, or go for the newest version from Hitachi and get the MA4. After speaking to the rep he mentioned that it was the same industrial grade piece of equipment as the MA2 so I went for it. The body of the MA4 is even a little beefier.



Now onto the Hitachi and some of the things I love about it. First off it has an air blowing feature. You may think that is trivial, but it is a great feature that everyone is raving about. When I bought my Bosch jig saw it had an air blowing line that would remove the dust from where the blade meets the wood so you can see the line. After using lesser jig saws and not being able to see the line due to instant dust buildup, that was quite an improvement, so I am partial to air blowing capabilities. Even though with a nailer you don't wind up with the same problem, this thing has an air blower that is so strong that you can clean off a large workbench in only a few seconds; it comes in handy. It also has an interesting air input connection that is configured so you can keep the air line out of the way, and suspended in air so it is not so likely to bump into things. The Hitachi also has the continuous firing option whereas the Bostitch has the single firing option only. With continuous firing you can squeeze the trigger, and as fast as you plunge the head into the workpiece it fires repeatedly. You may have seen this feature on guns that are used to place tar paper on the side of buildings. Once up on the ladder they spread out a sheet, and pow, pow, pow. None of this stuff of positioning the gun, depress the nose, and then fire. That is great when you are doing precision work, but when you have larger areas that require multiple shots the multiple fire feature is great.



Nail availability. The Bostitch is the odd man out when it comes to nails in the industry; they only accept Bostitch nails. So Bostitch is proprietary forcing you to buy their nails. The Hitachi accepts the popular standard size from other manufacturers so when you are in the middle of a job you can access them locally, and not have to worry about overstocking everything all of the time. I normally would still prefer to use Hitachi nails in the Hitachi gun just in case but when viewing the ads for B&C Eagle nails they state, "Fits Senco, Hitachi, PC, Rigid, Milwaukee, Makita, Craftsman, Dewalt, and most other 15 gauge angled finish nailers." So you can see that you will never be stuck finding a compatible nail for the Hitachi 15 gauge nailer.



Overall the Bostitch is not a bad gun, but it appears that jams are more frequent after some use, and of course when they occur they bend over and mar the wood. Maybe this feature of having more power may be the reason why the driver gets broken. Combining that with a no oil environment may be the culprit.



I've also seen some pretty high priced Hitachi equipment, and with the discount I was able to purchase it for a price super close to the Bostitch. Bostitch is a good name, but in this case, I like the Hitachi better. Hitachi includes a nice case, and even a pair of safety glasses; nice touch. I just wish they included a small bottle of the oil. Maybe they didn't want to deal with the oil spill creating a mess problems. Oh well, no biggie. The bottom line to me is ease of use with multiple nail driving options and reliability. Since there is already an excellent plot synopsis, and good reviews, I have just a few comments. In selecting acting roles, Alec Guinness clearly felt that variety was the spice of life !"The Man in the White Suit" is a brilliant, but very eccentric scientist, and Guinness is of course terrific in the lead. As always, Cecil Parker is fine in support, and Joan Greenwood, with her breathy, seductive voice, is wonderful. As other reviewers have noted, watch for Ernest Thesiger as "Sir John"--in just a few scenes he manages to convey pure evil and greed very convincingly.While this film has humour, it is not quite a comedy in the usual sense. Its various themes and messages ring true even today. "Planned obsolescence" is as much a part of modern manufacturing as it has ever been. The possibility of a product that never wears out and will never need to be replaced is every big business' worst nightmare, and hardly good news for labour either. This comes across in the movie, and in 2003 I don't expect that the reaction would be any different. We have been hearing about engines that run on solar power or even water for years--guess how much "big oil" is going to let that happen ? ! The movie has a number of unforgettable scenes, including the climax where Guinness is cornered by the mob of workers and capitalists, united in their fear. The ending is as upbeat as one could expect, without compromising the seriousness of the theme.The picture quality of the DVD is fine, especially for a 52-year old film.If you like classic movies that are aimed at your brain, as well as your funny-bone, "The Man in the White Suit" fills the bill. Yet another madcap Ealing comedy starring Alec Guinness as a scientist who invents a fabric that won't soil or wear out. Realizing that such a fabric would spell ruin for the whole textile industry, the company wants Guinness to sign over the invention to them so they can suppress it. He, of course, wants it known to the whole world: it's his ticket to fame.



Quite a tug-of-war develops between Guinness and the government henchmen involving chases, bribery, kidnapping, and other lunacies. But it all comes to naught when the lasting qualities of the fabric prove to be defective. Guinness is wonderful and the script is taut and hilarious. It's a neat little black comedy on industrialism vs. the entrepeneur. From that devilish smile on Guinness's face at the end, it looks like the battle goes on. Terrific fun; definitely worth a watch.

Just a note--I can't find as anyone's caught this. The soundtrack for this film is by Benjamin Frankel, a serious British composer whose symphonies are highly regarded, and is one of the best film scores Ive encountered in some time. In fact I'm surprised it isn't better known as it approaches the quality Sir William Walton reached in his Shakespeare scores for Olivier. I'd buy this DVD just for the music.



Otherwise this is an absolutely wonderful flick and, as an exercise in humorous cynicism about how the modern world operates I'd double-bill it with Wilder's absurdly under-rated "One, Two, Three."

The Man in the White Suit seems to me to be partially a satire on Ayn Rand's the Fountainhead. Alec Guinness plays Sidney Stratton deadpan in the role of the lone, mad scientist of the British clothing industry. Stratton is on a mission to create a new fabric that never gets dirty and never wears out. His bizarre quest gets him fired from one after another jobs as a scientist as he diverts (or as the British would say, cadges) equipment and supplies from companies to his projects. He then works as a janitor still cadging supplies and hiding his experiments until he is discovered and promoted by the daughter (Joan Greenwood) of one of the captains of industry.



After he is promoted, he is given full support for his bizarre idea. Then, another of the elements of satire is the mad scientist of the horror films of the late 40's, with suitable lights flashing, "boops....beeps" and water gurgling sound effects, and a few explosions of the works.



This leads to curiosity...what is he up to? Then, word leaks out that he is working on a cloth that never gets dirty and never wears out. At first it sounds like a good idea but soon the Schumpeterian creative destruction implications of this invention for jobs, businesses, and industries, becomes clear to the industry leaders, the unions, and the ordinary workers. Then, another object of satire in this movie proceeds as all the groups go to battle against each other and then eventually against this man and his invention.



Then the movie goes into a chase scene with Guinness wearing this incredibly luminous white suit..... but you'll have to watch the movie to find out how it ends.

Although Alec Guinness had already achieved a fair degree of fame on stage and on screen by the time he made THE MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT, this is, in fact, one of his earliest starring roles. Strictly speaking, although he had portrayed eight characters in 1949's KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS, this was his first comedy in which is played the lead. Playing inventor Sidney Stratton, Guinness further cemented his burgeoning reputation as one of England's most interesting and versatile actors.The film features a marvelous though, to early 21st century film fans, largely unknown cast. Joan Greenwood, who is one of my favorite actresses in the history of film--beautiful, effortlessly sexy and sensual, enormously talented, and possessed of one of the great voices in the history of cinema--plays Guinness's romantic counterfoil. Cecil Parker, who while never a star, seemed to populate dozens of successful films without ever calling attention to himself. The film also features a typical performance by Ernest Thesiger, who played ancient-old-man parts for over forty years in films and is one of the most unique looking actors in British film history. The story involves a quirky scientist inventing cloth that never gets dirty and never wears out, but which comes out of the lab pure white. This was at a time when a whole range of new synthetic fabrics were hitting the market, so the subject was very topical at the time. The plot revolves around the anticipated effects such material would have on the textile industry. The film is a comedy, but it is the kind of comedy that creates more smiles than laughs. I didn't purchase this item from Amazon, I bought it at a local electronics store. I have been looking for something that would allow me to play my vinyl in the house, but allow me to listen while in the pool, or grilling, or just having company over. As I am renting I don't have the ability to run wired speakers, nor do I have any electrical outlets on my patio, so the battery operation was key.

First things first Sound Quality- This speaker is okay, but good enough for outside. The dull highs may also be because of the fact that this uses RF to transmit. If you listen to MP3's through your IPod, or a boom box you probably won't be too disappointed, the highs are lacking, and so it can sound a bit muffled, but the Bass response is surprisingly decent for a speaker in a plastic container, and for a 5W amp, this thing puts out some good volume. in fact I only use it at about half volume even when I am washing my car.

The portability of this unit is key, the planter on top is removable, so if you had it in the garden and wanted to move it to the pool you can just take the planter off the top set it aside, and bring the speaker wherever you want. The reception is EXCELLENT, better than even I expected. My stereo is in the basement, and this thing reaches with crystal clear reception upstairs and to the other side of the property line!

Also, don't worry about watering the plant, there are drain holes under it that channel the water away from the unit.

The 3.5MM plug on the transmitter allows you to plug this unit into anything, the headphone jack of your MP3 player, speaker output of your PC, or the headphone jack of your stereo system. I have a headphone out on my computer speakers, so I hooked it up to there, since I have my turntable, and a CD player, and all my MP3's on my PC so the one output takes care of everything.

I would recommend rechargeable batteries because this thing takes 6 of them, however battery life on an 85 degree day with constant use was impressive. I had 6 half charged batts in there and they lasted about 7 hours, so with a full charge I am sure they would be good for a weekend worth of entertaining. This unit will also run off of AC power with the supplied AC adapter.

This product is not WATERPROOF, just water resistant, so if it's going to rain, or you aren't using it for a while, take the plant off and store the speaker in your garage until the next time.

For the price of other units, this thing is a great buy, of you want better sound, you are looking in the $400 range, and for that money I could buy a lot of new records for my turntable and listen on my Klipsch Towers indoors!

Set up was fairly easy with two types of cables from a radio store. I used a second zone on my reciever so that I could play music outside and watch TV inside. The sound was a little lower than I would have liked for outside. Then it stopped working entirely after a few days and I cannot get it to work again.'
