Argyle - thunderbolt screen protector, hard case

Got in the mail yesterday and fitting like a glove today bought one before for the droid x and its still up there almost a year later for ten bucks with this company you'll win every time!!!!......For people who messed up their phone????????? dont submerge the phone with the spray just a couple squirts and some on your fingertips....all you need .........great product will buy for EVERY phone in the future!! Skinomi TechSkin - Screen Protector Shield for HTC ThunderBolt + LIFETIME REPLACEMENTS

I was a little skeptical at first. Other reviewers made it seem like putting this on was like a form of brain surgery. Overall pleasantly surprised though. Let me hit the high points:

1)Beautiful packaging. At first it's a little overwhelming (all this for a simple screen protector?!?!?!) but, so long as you follow the directions, it all makes sense.

2) As to the application of the product. Went on like a charm, despite the fact that it looked like imminent disaster. You do need to follow the directions to a T. Moisten your fingers, and when they say "spray entire screen protector) they do mean FRONT and BACK. That's key.

3) Initial application did have bubbles and streaks despite my best efforts but like they promised, all of the initial wrinkles, bubbles etc disappeared after about 3 days! You do need to leave the phone alone for about 18 hours after application.

So all in all a great product. Here are my gripes though: 1) No lens cloth in the package! You will need one. Actually 2. Preferably like the disposable Zeiss Optics ones. 2) In certain specific kinds of light the screen protector has a little bit of a haze/wave that is slightly distracting. But it's a very limited issue. 3) The reason only 4 starts was that there is about a 10%% reduction in sensitivity to the touch pad as a result of this screen protector. In all honestly that is both good and bad. It makes certain keys (like the phone button) less sensitive but for games (i.e. Angry Birds) you have to be a little more deliberate about your movements then normal.

All in all a good product, went on like a charm. I've tried others and this is the best. Recommended!

Ordered this after reading the great reviews for it on the internet. The application went without a hitch and the screen protector looked great. Great clarity, no bubbles, and was exactly what was said about it on the internet. The problem with the screen protector is that it was not what I thought I was getting.

I must be rough on my phone, hence why I ordered a screen protector in the first place, and place it in my pocket with all sorts of other sharp things like keys and a spare battery. I had waited the suggested 24 hours before using the phone and placed it in my pocket as usual. To my dismay when I looked at the phone at the end of the day.....the screen protector looked like it had been snagged and stretched in places and was no longer flat and nice. The stretch marks became more and more pronounced and quantity the longer I used the phone and kept it in my pocket. The screen protector was never cut or pierced but "stretched" and wrinkled.

I did not want a screen protector that would mar itself with stretch marks. The stretch marks were very noticeable and were beginning to effect the clarity of the screen after just a few days.

What I wanted was a screen protector which would protect the screen and also not mar itself in the process. I think the Skinomi is just a little bit too flexible for my use. It is a good product if you dont abuse your phone, the installation was straight forward, and initial results great.

Just not my cup of tea. I ordered some screen protectors from Steinheil, which is a dry install, and made of a much harder material. I think these are going to serve my purpose much better. A little more money but you do get two for the price. Time will tell.

I say I was a bit reserved about this product until I tried it. This skin is amazing and they will have more of my business in the near future. I messed up the first time I tried to apply it and the great thing was you get a redo, just follow the instructions and a few days it is like its not even there. I bought the cable for use with a canon SD780 camera. It securely attached to the camera and my HDTV. I found that the miniHDMI side was adequately narrow to fit into the plug on the tiny SD780. It works perfectly. I was a little concerned by some bad reviews, but figured I'd give this cable a try considering that it was 1/3 the price of other miniHDMI-HDMI cables I looked at. I'm glad I did.

NOTE: HDMI is entirely digital. The 1's and 0's either transmit or they don't. You won't get a "better" picture by using more expensive cables. Here, because this cheap cable works, there is no reason to ever get a more expensive one. Tripp Lite P570-006 6ft HDMI to mini-HDMI, Digital Audio - Video Cable, 6'

I bought one of these to go along with my canon HG10 HD camcorder. Using the cable, the picture was grainy and miscolored on one TV, and didnt work on another TV. I did an amazon return/exchange (great btw) and the next one didnt work *at all*. I started to doubt the camcorder thinking maybe the mini HDMI port was bad. I took the camcorder to a Fry's Electronics store, and bought a different brand cable (30$) and tested it out on the spot. Worked like a charm. If you are getting this for a canon HG10, I would beware.

I bought the Canon HF-10 a week ago - it is a great camcorder. I also bought this Trip Lite Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable. When the items arrived, I tested the camera and was very happy. I then tried to play videos over mu Sony 52" HDTV through the HDMI port with this cable. It did not work at all. I began to worry about whether it was the cable or the HF-10 HDMI port. The component cable supplied by Canon worked great on HDTV in 1080i but not the HDMI. Finally, after a lot of investigation (several hours) I had my wife buy a SONY cable (about $40). It worked superbly! It appears to me that the quality control on these Tripp Lite cables is very poor. Reading the review you see that a lot arrived and did not work. I think Amazon should withdraw this item. I know that cables are a high profit item for electronics vendors. You can get them cheaper on e-bay if you shop around. Going for the Tripp Lite version cost me waste a lot of time. The HF-10 camera surely is great!

Dr. Bob Brown, Jr.

With the mixed reviews on this item, I ordered this cable with some hesitation. But what the heck! I'll take a chance. I just bought a similar cable at my local computer store. I paid $40. The more expensive cable not only doesn't perform any better, it doesn't appear to be made as well as the cable I purchased here for only a few dollars. Unlike the cable I purchased here, the more expensive cable doesn't even have gold plated jacks. Needless to say, the more expensive cable is being returned. I am using the Tripp Lite cable with my Panasonic Lumix ZS3 camera. It works great!

I like the quality of this cable even though I wish I could use a regular one, but unfortunately Sony puts a mini HDMI connector on their HD camcorders. It works perfectly between the Sony and a 1080p HDTV.

I ordered this cable with some low expectations because of some of the reviews. What i got was a perfect cable cable with no issues. I am sure that some people may have received a defective cable but most of the problem may be that the cable not being properly installed into the equipment.

I however would have to say go ahead and try it. What do you have to lose for the price.'

Portable Burner - camping stove, butane stove

Got two of these for camping/emergency use and couldn't be more impressed. Both work great and fire up on the first try. The BTU output is impressive and the units will boil water faster than my home stove by far. They are light and come with their own case making storage easy. Wish the Butane canisters were easier to find as not everyone carries them. GASONE Portable Gas Stove CSA Approved With Free Carry Case,Gift Box

Greetings all. I got this becasue of the excellent, detailed reviews from Amazon clients. Works great. I use it a lot in the summer with the barbeque. Actually, I use two. The fuel is available in any oriental market. Works well in moderate wind. Lots of BTUs. Use it, wipe it, back in the sturdy case it goes. I use wide pots and pans; they fit and the weight of the utensil adds to the stability of the cooker. Each can of fuel goes a long way. Very even flame, excellent adjustability. Compares to interior regular gas range. Have used it 50 times so far. Works like new. No rust, dents, spills; no ignition failures. Relax -the cooker is designed so that the fuel can cannot go in the wrong way. This is not a toy. Keep children away, just as with the kitchen stove. Do not store fuel can in cooker when not in use. Set up takes 20 seconds. Use. Let cool. Remove can, wipe down and back in case takes one minute. Store anywhere. Case looks like a sturdy cordless drill case. Regards to all.

I was very impressed with the two stoves I bought. The price was unbelievably excellent. I got these for emergency purposes. It is compact and easy to carry with the included plastic case about the size of a small brief case. The top of the stove flips upside down to place a pan on it and again for storage. the design is quite impressive, compact and engineering is top notch. The cannisters fit well and can lock into place to secure connection. The butane cans are about the size of a regular sized spray paint can. I tested it only to be sure everything worked OK, so can not comment on how long a can will burn. The flames were even all around the burner. It is well built and of good quality. It can easily be used for camping or other situations where regular power or gas stoves are not functioning. It is safe, easy to carry and I like it very much.

Like all the other reviews, this is a decent unit. It has many safety features built-in as these units ought to have. It comes with a simple nice and easy storage case making it easy to both store away and carry with you as luggage in hiking and camping trips.

These units are pretty simple and there is not much technological advantage over others, but you can tell it is built well and will last if taken care of (wiping it off when you use it and storing it in a indoor, out of weather environment.

TIP FOR BOTTLE PURCHASE (NO NEED TO BUY GASONE BRAND FROM ONLINE, there are choices available locally in most major metropolitan cities)

*It seems that many reviewers were having trouble finding the butane bottles. The tip is that many Asian markets (e.g. 99 Ranch: [...], H-Mart:[...]:[...] including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese markets all sell generic brands of butane bottles. You just have to find the write type of bottles which the instructions manual specify as DOT-2P or DOT-2Q 8 oz bottles. Here in California as of May 30, 2011, it cost $1.09 per bottle which is cheaper than anything that amazon sells. Asians typically use these butane stoves not for camping but for hot pot (boiling raw foods at the dinner table) or for cooking meat.

Highly recommend to others, build quality is good and works really well. It has many safety design that prevents user from locking the gas-can if either the gas-can is not sitted properly or the top pot stand is not being flipped over. Great price for such a simple but terrific stove.

Of all the portable cookstoves I have owned over the decades this is my absolute favorite! I bought two of these for use both camping and in emergencies.

It is well made and well designed, lightweight, sturdy and has a very hot, near invisible flame. Both stoves lit on the first turn of the handle (yep, it's that easy...no matches required). Oh, and my other favorite feature...the butane canisters are very lightweight. All this and WAY inexpensive on amazon.com as well.

This cookstove produces a much hotter flame than my single burner propane stoves and I was able to boil my eggs very, very quickly (that was my test run out of the box).

Regarding the butane canisters that many have mentioned having difficulty locating: I did try the asian stores near me as another reviewer recommended. No luck. The local outdoors/camping stores/hardware stores wanted over $3/canister.

I wound up ordering eight cases of 12 of the sterno brand butane canisters (96 total) from samsclub.com and paid $188 INCLUDING fedex shipping to my door. That comes to $1.96/canister. These fit the stove perfectly (they have the required notched collar on them). If you order via internet, you need to know that you will be required to sign for the order as it is "hazardous" material.

I HIGHLY recommend this particular cookstove.

This GasOne "Portable Gas Stove" works far better than I expected! We wanted a small "camping style" stove for use if we lose power for an extended period because we only have an electric range. Since were forecast for an ice storm we decided to give it a try before the power went out. Here are my observations:

Setup -

1) Remove unit from plastic hard case

2) Turn burner top over and place on top of base

3) Open fuel storage cover

4) Insert fuel canister (we used GasOne Butane Fuel Canister (12 Pack)) so stove sensor stud fits in "collar notch" (easier than it sounds, see my pictures in "Customer Images)

5) Press down the "Lock" lever

6) To turn on the stove, turn the temperature dial all the way counter-clockwise and it will self ignite

Pros -

+ Good Quality; mostly metal construction

+ Lightweight; weighs only a few pounds

+ Easy Setup; literally took less than a minute from opening the case to when I ignited the burner

+ Hot; the butane seems to burn much hotter than the Sterno heaters I used in the past

+ Sturdy; once setup, different sized pots and pans will fit onto the graduated burner top

Cons -

- Case is a little flimsy, but it is functional

We like this so much that I will likely pick up another one for camping use.

Highly Recommended!

Bathroom Sink Faucets

This is a great looking faucet. All metal construction, except for two little plastic discs in the valves - it is a sturdy faucet.

PROS:

- great looking

- all metal, sturdy

- very simple design, easy, in theory, to install and understand (see below)

CONS:

- no documentation, instructions, manufacturer name, or anything. This isn't a big deal, given it is so straight forward to install, and it is so inexpensive that if it ever needs replacing (or replacement parts), just buying a new faucet isn't much of a strain.

- makes quite a bit of noise when the water is turned up high. like an airplane taking off or something... although this is definitely livable.

- hardware issue #1: one of the two braided hoses that came with the faucet burst. I would recommend supplying your own hoses.

- hardware issue #2: the stem coming from the faucet down through the counter top is TOO SHORT. I'm installing on a standard thickness granite counter. There wasn't quite enough stem to allow a tight fit when connecting the T-fitting to the stem, so it leaked water. I instead installed a braided hose along with a male-male fitting between the stem and the T-fitting. The braided hose female adapter is shorter than the T-fitting female adapter, so this worked.

- hardware issue #3: the rubber washer that came with the T-fitting shredded almost immediately. I bought a new washer that solved that problem.

- hardware issue #4: the washer/nut that is used below the faucet to clamp it to the underside of the counter top is not big enough. Given that this is a narrower than usual stem for a faucet, the standard hole for the faucet in the counter is too wide for the washer/nut. I had to buy a washer that fit over the stem and was wide enough to cover the entire hole.

After resolving the hardware issues, I'm left with a sleek-looking faucet. I'm happy with the outcome. Euro Modern Contemporary Bathroom Vanity Sink Widespread Lavatory Faucet Chrome

I ordered this faucet and installed it myself just after installing a kitchen and another bathroom faucet without problems. At first it seemed to be working fine, after several hours i noticed that water was dripping even though the knobs were turned all the way off. I tried to tighten the knobs and discovered another issue, Since the knobs are rectangular if one needs to be tightened more than the other they end up like this -- / . This does not look very attractive and makes it hard to tell if they are both off. After the next day the dripping started again and I decided to return the faucet. The build quality of the faucet itself was somewhat lacking as the end where the water emerges is not rolled or finished and is rather sharp. There is no aerator so the water flow is a little erratic.

I am very pleased with this product. The modern look, quality and functionality of this faucet is awesome. I would definitely recommend ordering it. The price is 2-3 times less than you will pay elsewhere. My faucet has been installed for about 6 weeks and it works beautifully. Love it, love it, love it.

I don't think this product is inexpensive and was shocked to receive it today. It comes in a plain white box without a single indication of who made it or where. The only writing on the box is FC-WRG01-TC and the word "chrome". There is a small booklet inside called "Installation Instruction" that has a single page dedicated to a cartoon of this faucet. The booklet also does not have a company name or country of origin listed on it.

I returned mine. It is pretty amazing to get something like this from Amazon and not know anything about it - what material is it really made from? Is it really lead free? Who made it? Where? How do I contact them? What if it fails? What if it damages my home?

The item description says it comes with a "5 year manufacturer's warranty" - but what sort of warranty is that if you don't know who manufactured it?

lots of scratches, and chips....not from the mail these were obviously from the manufacturer. They didn't arrive on time. They were not very easy to install either becuase the way you have to tighten them they never get really all that tight so they will always move. the nob edges are very shape and have cut myself 3 times on them. It's been 4 months since intalling and the water that come out of them tastes very funny...like chemicals. I bought these because they were a great price but i wish i would have just spent a little more and got something from the store'

Home Theater - dlp projector, dlp projectors

First impression

With out-of-box (factory) settings and connected to my macbook via HDMI cable watching an Avatar trailer the sound of "WOW" was echoing in our room.

Previously

Earlier today, I had returned a new Optoma pico projector (PK301) to Bestbuy after days and nights of viewing in diverse lighting conditions, PK301 just didn't work well due to too weak brightness (<50 lumens) whenever the room was not completely dark. My conclusion: current (relatively inexpensive) LED based projectors are not just yet up to the task until they are capable of performing over 1000 lumens.

Online research

I did a quick research and found many positive reviews on Optoma GT720. I also checked and compared to reviews of Optoma HD66 which I first intended to buy via Amazon; Bestbuy however had a $100 discount for this model so I bought it from them instead with no waiting time as a bonus.

Application

My primary purpose (application) was presentation of business material such as slides and movies at diverse conference and exhibition halls; my secondary application was for use at home: home office, movies and TV (cable box, bluray, Netflix etc.).

Details and summary

My usual set of criteria for projectors are resolution, brightness, connections, placement, noise. This model from Optoma meets all of them. It displays HD material with performance almost comparable to our 32' Sony Bravia 1080 LCD TV, Mix it then with a stellar brightness performance, connected via HDMI cable, placed very close (short throw) to the projection wall and throwing a gigantic-size display, performing in Standard brightness mode with yet very low level of audible noise.

Said things makes one smile when experiencing a sub $750 projector in year 2010. Bravo. Optoma GT700 3D Game Time Projector, Great for Wii, PlayStation, and Xbox

Awesome! I am happy with the projector, it has replaced my 60 incher that is now sitting in the corner. The picture quality is amazing, even with the lights on. Ive used it for hours while using my Xbox, and it stays the same temperature, and is quieter than the Xbox itself. From 12 feet away I have a 155in Screen. My place has become the place to watch everything at...BUY THIS IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT IT!

I was originally looking at plasma TVs to hook up to a Playstation 3 and cable box to watch football and baseball games in HD. However, I was really impressed with a $2500 projector a friend had bought, but that was way out of my price bracket. I saw the Optoma GT700 and thought for $650 I would get a projector that was a quarter as good, but for the same price as a 50 inch plasma screen. How wrong I was! This projector is almost as good as the top of the range models and makes even the largest plasma and LCD screens look poor. Set up is easy, I was playing games and watching HD TV on a 12 foot wall within 20 minutes of opening the box. You are only restricted by the size of the wall you can project on. It works reasonably well in lit conditions, but really comes into its own in the dark, it's just like being in the cinema, but the snacks are cheaper! The only problem is that once you start watching TV on this you won't want to watch it on your tiny 52inch screen anymore. If you are looking for a TV for your basement, this is the one.

You will be surprised at the throw distance. From a very short distance, you can get a 120" screen overflowing.. Good and bad in a way. I live in an apartment and did not want to ceiling mount this. So table mounting was my only option. For a 120" 16:9 screen hanging from the very top end of the wall, you cannot seat the projector over 1 foot high from the floor. Very little zoom adjustment you can make so placement is very critical. Also there is no horizontal keystone, so kind of expect it to be placed in the dead center of the screen.

Other than for these, it simply blows your mind in the picture clarity. Also, since the throw distance is going to be very short, the intensity of the light projected is also not lost. This keeps the image bright even with significant ambient light (on a screen not ann unpainted wall) !!!!

Another nice thing is that this projector ships with its own carry bag.. Not a big deal but is something that can come in very handy.

So far I love this projector. Keystoning was a bit difficult to adjust perfectly and still tweaking this as I find a permanent spot for the projector. Lens/lamp tilts upwards rather than straight forward, which made it difficult to find the perfect spot in my house. It was a plug and play projector, which is great! Little tweaking needed to be done with this equipment. Sound on this projector is amazingly loud. So far no complaints, will update if I find anything I don't like.

First, let me tell you that I'm 22 years old and my primary uses include mostly Xbox 360 and PS3, although I do hook it up to my computer from time to time. Halo and COD: Black Ops are pretty legit, especially multiplayer. I wouldn't say that a bigger picture is an advantage in multiplayer, but it's definitely nicer just to have and rub in my friends' faces that I have a 10 foot screen. Movies are pretty awesome as well (think, The Room by Tommy Wiseau). ESPN3 on Xbox 360 is pretty cool, although your quality of video for live events is based on your internet connection. I can't comment on regular TV because I can't figure out a way to get the coax-to-HDMI or component going (other than getting a cable box). If anyone has any suggestions on how to do this, let me know. Blacks looks good, especially at night. Can't really comment on 3D.

One problem that I do have is controlling the volume. The remote that comes with it goes from 0 to 10 in terms of loudness and I usually keep it at about a 4. I also have it set to output sound through my computer speakers, so when I turn those up past half-way I can tell that the sound is coming out of the computer speakers and not the projector speakers. When the sound is below half-way on my computer speakers, sound comes out of the projector speakers. Obviously, the computer speakers are better quality, but it's just annoying that I have to adjust the volume all the time. I don't know if that made any sense, but whatever.

Anyway, it's still pretty B.A. to have such an awesome device that projects a picture so large. The screen I got was a tri-pod since I move around so much, and, as I've mentioned previously, it's 120". Yeah. [...] - Dlp Projector - Dlp Projectors - Home Entertainment Projectors - 720p'

Klipsch S4 - headphones, earbuds

Recently my old Sony In ear headphones stopped working and so I decided it was time to move onto something higher end for use with my Zune. When it comes to sound, I have always preferred the best sound I can get for the money, as I have practiced when picking receivers and speakers for my home theater systems as well.

This is the first product from Klipsch I have bought but I knew of their quality before hand and that is what drew me to this pair. They definitely lived up to their name with these. I'll start out by saying that the headphones have absolutely amazing sound reproduction quality, though it doesn't have the huge bass "punch" in my head like my Sony's did, it is very balanced. Perhaps this is due to the fact I didn't put the headphones under a burn in period yet, so I will update once I have done that. The bass that currently there though is still very good and it compliments the very good mid and high ranges. In comparison, I have tried many other friend's headphones before and this is by far the best ones I have listened to thus far.

Second, the noise isolation is superb, I can barely hear anything when I have them in, so though this is very good in noisy environments, I wouldn't suggest taking strolls around with them in or running alone, otherwise you will not be able to hear anything around you.

Third, these headphones are extremely comfortable, even after prolonged use with them, you still only can tell they are in your ears because the music is playing haha!

Overall these headphones are amazing for the money, I would recommend these to anyone. 5 Stars.

UPDATE 3/9/11

After putting these headphones under a sufficient burn in period, I have noticed a good increase in bass "depth" and punch to my music, which makes these headphones all the better! I have let my friends use these over the past few months as well and they all tell me that they are absolutely blown away by the quality of these headphones. It gives a new meaning to just listening to music, its more like being surrounded by it, or as if you are in the studio while the artist was recording. Klipsch Image S3 Noise-Isolating Earphones with Patented Oval Ear-Tips (Graphite Grey)

Before I write something about the produce, a bit about my affiliation with sound. I am a guitarist, have performed on stage for small scale events in my country and hence I have done a lot of sound checks, adjustments on consoles etc. Additionally, I am fond of good quality music. But who isn't, right?

So I was trying to find a substitute to my over the head Sony MDR series phones, as they are too heavy to carry around in streets while walking and besides, in Chicago winter, your head is already covered beneath layer(s) of stuff.

I ordered these after researching for about a couple of months. When I received the package, I was excited. I opened the pack (which seemed at least 10 times bigger than what was required to pack them), and connected it to my Laptop right away.

First reaction: Shi! I waisted my money on this!. In audio terms, great mid, shrill type highs and totally third grade lows, and volume levels were lower than what I was expecting.

But I was still hopeful so I thought I should give some exercise to the Diaphragm of the phones and put them through the Burn-in process, which I did, by playing Bassy music for about an hour and a half (or less).

I tried them again...

Second reaction: Money well spent. The Lows were good, not too loud, but balanced. mids were, as usual, good, but I must confess, I think there is an extra bit of balancing required for the highs, which apparently are a bit more than required.

I am not sure about comfort as the plastic buds may fit different ears differently and one out of three sets should fit properly. Go ahead, take em out an experiment. I am sure you will find a comfortable size. Unless you have uniquely shaped ears.

Overall, I am enjoying my music (the one that I recorded with my acoustic guitar) and I would recommend this for anything less than USD 30.00

4 stars because obviously, there are better earphones out there with far more balanced sound and better quality and I personally don't have enough reasons and of course, money, to buy all of them.

Rest of the things seemed good and I like the pouch, although it doesn't have a lot of utility for me personally. At any given day I would choose better sounding earphones vs nice packaging and a pouch. Thankfully, didn't have to make a choice here. A good for money deal!

Just a personal thought : Try twisting'em inside your ear to know which position gets the best sound delivered. I personally like to place them in my ears in such a way that the wire goes over my ears. I think I can get more quality tone then.

The sound is fine, whatever. It's on par with the similarly priced Sonys. The main thing is that there's a lot of cord noise if you walk or run with it. The flumping will nearly drown out the speakers at normal volume. Not recommended for active use, but great for sitting quietly and not moving.

Overall, i think these headphones are great. they sound great, have good bass, and are very comfortable. one issue i have: the thin cables transmit a lot of noise, say, when they rub against your sweatshirt. My brother has the image S4s. no doubt, the S4s sound better, but he was really surprised for the value i got for half the price. For half the price i'd say i got at least 7/8 the sound. all that's missing is the clarity that the S4s offer. - Earbuds - Audio - Headphones - Earphones'

Cordless Screwdriver - drill, lithium

When rumor of this tool first surfaced, I cornered my Fastenal gal who introduced me to the Bosch rep. I have been able to use the PS30-2A on the Job for several months and it is every bit as reliable and tough as my 36V Bosch Hammer Drill.

One of my biggest gripes about the PS20 was the slip chuck and having to use 1/4" bits to drill. Even though it was my favorite tool in the bucket, the PS30 has out shined it in every way. The 3/8" chuck is perfect for all those small / medium drill jobs and will run down small finishing screws into cabinetry flush every time with it's adj clutch. The 2 speeds are great for fine and not so fine applications. In fact we find that we use it for larger jobs when we probably would use the 36V.

The number of times guys on the crew said "toss me that little Bosch" and it not making the connection has proven it toughness. The PS30 has that tough feel to it. You know that Recip saw or grinder that gets tossed into the back of the truck year after year and always works when you pull the trigger. This tool feels the same way. With 2 batteries and a true 30 min charger we have never run out of power in a two day span.

The only problem I have is making sure it is in the bucket in the morning as it seems to make it's way into the house by itself more and more often for those little "Do it Herself" jobs. Bosch PS30-2A 12-Volt Max 3/8-Inch Drill Driver

This thing is light weight and powerful. You can use in awkward postions and the weight does not tire you out. It has a great form-fit for the hand -- mine isn't small or huge, and it's comfortable. The batteries do fully charge in 30 minutes, making them easy to rotate and get the job done. My wife loves it because even with her smaller hands, it's easy for her to use around the house.

Torque selection and the keyless chuck operate smoothly and clearly indicate the easily adjustable settings. Finally, with a little practice the trigger is so responsive that you maintain real control over drill speed and avoid stripping screws or spintering wood. The LED light is bright enough to make quick work in less than optimal light conditions.

If there are any flaws in the design or operation of this drill, I haven't found them. It's a great tool.

I have the Bosch PS40-2a 12v Impact Driver, and think it is absolutely the best tool I've ever purchased. That thing rocks in every way. Its power, balance, weight, and run time all combine to make a truly useful tool that I've needed for years before I bought it.

It was with that in mind that I decided to try the PS30-2a drill, even though there was very little out there (or here) in terms of reviews. I wanted a drill that was just as good as their impact driver. Unfortunately, I was not nearly as impressed with this tool.

Don't get me wrong, this drill works fine. Its action is smooth and the chuck works great. But what really turned me off was the lack of balance. It is quite top heavy. You wouldn't think it would make much of an impact given that overall the tool is quite light. But after using it for a small project I found my wrist was quite sore. The unbalanced nature of it simply fatigued my wrist enough to make me have to lay off the tools for a couple days.

I then borrowed a DeWalt 12v from a friend and it was night and day. The DeWalt was heavier to be sure, but the balance was much more even from top to bottom. As a result it's an easier and more pleasant tool to use.

I have several great Bosch tools (router, sander, impact driver) and hoped this would be another one of my favorites. Instead, I ended up sending it back.

This is just a great light to medium duty cordless drill. It's the BMW of 12v LiOn drills.

In terms of the serious business of drilling all is as it should be. The chuck is solid and precise. the clutch works well. There is adequate torque. The 2 speed gear switch works smoothly (it's a struggle with my Dewalt, for example). The reverse switch is solid, smooth and well-placed (I use the reverse switch a LOT). The charger is pretty good (fast, easy to understand charge-state) although the battery socket is a little stiff forcing you to really commit to pushing the battery into it. The batteries are tiny but last long enough.

The drill itself is ergonomically quite good. It balances in the hand well (although I wish it stood upright -- the only real problem with the tool, and the reason I am not giving it 5 stars).

The Bosch looks nice, the LED's are a nice edition. The case is well designed and high quality.

The value is there too, given that it's Bosch -- the tool, 2 batteries, a case, a charger for about $130.

In the end, buying a higher priced tool, say a Bosch, Makita, etc instead of a lower priced tool like a DeWalt or Skill or Porter Cable is a matter of taste: in the end, it's just a drill. Beyond issues of reliability, the choice you make probably isn't going to affect your actually getting the work done.

But if you are the kind of person who is willing to pay a premium for quality of experience, if for example you buy Audi's and BMW's instead of Fords or Hyundais you are going to be very happy with this 12v cordless Bosch drill. - Cordless - 12v - Lithium - Drill'

Great Customer Service - ear piece, headset

If you're new to Bluetooth headsets or if you're not a hardcore headset user, this is a really great headset for the money. First of all, I liked how it sits very flush along my face. Other headsets I've seen stick way out and make you look like a cyborg. Secondly, I found it REALLY easy to use. Jabra did a great job when it comes to laying out the location of the buttons. My previous headset had all the buttons on the face and I found that it was hard to find them and often ended up pressing the wrong ones. The BT2080's ANSWER/END button is by itself on the front face. The rocker type volume switch is on the top/side of the headset. It has a dedicated power button on the backside of the headset. On my old headset, I had to press the ANSWER/END button to turn it ON/OFF. Also the location and size of the power button means there is less chance that it will inadvertantly get turned on when its in my pocket or laptop bag. I also love the intuitive "Smart Display" icons. Press any button on the headset and the battery icon lights up either green or red to tell you how much talk-time you have left. The Bluetooth icon also makes pairing much more simple. Flashing blue means the headset is ready to be paired. Solid blue and you're connected to the phone and ready to talk. The first time I turned the headset on it automatically went into "pairing" mode and since I have a newer phone with BT v2.1 I didn't even need to enter the pin code. Another nice thing is that there are no lights on the front so when I'm driving at night, it doesn't light up the car every 3 secs. Finally, the headset was unbelievably comfortable. It has a super soft eargel and I found that the fit was secure enough that I didn't even need to use the optional earhooks (which is helpful since I wear glasses). Finally, in terms of call quality, it was pretty solid. However, if you make most of your calls in high-noise environments I would recommend a more expensive headset with noise cancellation. Bottom line: the BT2080 is a really solid, easy to use headset and a great value. Jabra BT2080 Bluetooth Headset [Retail Packaging]

Let me start off by saying, this is only the second bluetooth headset I've ever owned and they've both been Jabras. I just bought one of these at a local retail store over the weekend. I was hesitant because the old one I had was plagued with the exact same problems this one has, so obviously I should've trusted my intuition and gone another way. The original Jabra bluetooth headset I had was one of their older, less expensive models which I figured was the reason I was having problems with it. The old headset would work great if I was in the car with the phone sitting in the cup holder next to me. I also had to be wearing the headset on the same side of my body that the phone was sitting so there was clear line of sight between the two devices. The minute I would get out of the car and put the phone in my pocket, it started crackling, cutting out, completely losing connection to the phone, and basically becoming a HUGE point of frustration for me. I figured bluetooth technology has to have improved by now so I went to the store and after looking at all of the available options, I chose the Jabra BT2080 because it looked the most comfortable, least bulky, and most cost friendly. I got the thing home, charged it overnight and began using it the next day and wouldn't you know it? The EXACT SAME PROBLEMS as the old model. Now keep in mind I used the old one with 4, yes four different phones of varying brands and models which I've had over the last 4 or 5 years since I bought the old headset, and every time the same result. This phone was no different so I figured it HAD to be the old headset. Nope! It seems like Jabra is the problem. I'm taking this stupid thing back to the store this afternoon and buying the Jawbone, which I should've bought in the first place. Never again Jabra, never again.

Not a bad headet, but one word of caution. The eargel is comfortable but will not last long. It breaks down quickly. The only replacement option from Jabra is a $10 headset kit, with 2 earloops and one eargel. This will get expensive! I called Jabra and there were no other options. If I had known this, I would not have bought it. I am looking for a 3rd party solution...if anyone knows of one.

perfect headset for beginners. basic, nothing fancy, but works great. on/off, volume, mute, which is all you need in a headset. connects to PS3 very well unlike some lower end bluetooth (Motorola H390) headset I've haved.

The price is good, it is easy to set-up and very user friendly. It is not very comfortable to wear, so I do not recommend it to those people who wear their headsets all the time.

One major flaw that I found (maybe it's true for all bluetooth headsets, have not tried others) is that when using it on my computer to make phone calls on Skype, it interferes with my other bluetooth devices such as my Logitech V470 mouse. Hopefully there would be a firmware update to fix this issue.

If I put my phone in my shirt pocket it starts crackling and breaking up. There is less than 3 feet of distance there. That is unacceptable. It earns a star for being so comfortable. Not very useful because the phone has to be right it front of it to work. What is the point of having a wireless headset and having to hold your phone on one hand so they have line of sight? Totally disappointing.

I bought this Bluetooth at a Black Friday sale for $20. This is the second Bluetooth I've had. The first was a Motorola one and it worked great! It worked well with my Razr, my Blackberry pearl, my Nokia e71x and my Blackberry Bold. I heard Jabra was a pretty good brand so I was not hesitant to try it out. I bought it and went straight home to try it out. I can say I was a little disappointed. It sounds very scratchy like the connection isn't strong. To get a good reception, the phone has to be right next to you or an arm's length away, but even then, it has to be strategically placed in order to not have that scratchy sound. Other than that, it is VERY user friendly and it is very comfortable. I LOVE the Eargel part but it also comes with a hook for around your ear. Overall, since I only paid $20 I am not unhappy with the purchase. I would recommend this to a first time Bluetooth user. Hope this helps! - Ear Piece - Bluetooth - Jabra - Headset'

Great Family Tent - big, great family tent

Bought this tent, took it camping memorial weekend. We fit 9 people in this tent. 2 Adults, 5 teenagers, and 2 smaller children. We had 2 full air mattresses 2 twin air mattresses and 3 cots. Very roomy. We even had a freak thunderstorm, it never leaked. Air flows through very well. Can't wait to take it camping again!! Swiss Gear Montreaux Ten Person Family Dome Tent

I was worried about buying this tent without any reviews posted, but I decided to take the chance anyway. Hopefully my review can help someone else out. I have not been camping in this tent yet, but it is currently set up in my back yard taking on the rain as we speak. First of all, the tent was very well packed and protected in a great bag when it arrived. The instructions said that two adults were required for assembly, but all I had was my four-year-old son. The instructions for assembly are sewn into the bag, so you cannot lose them! I set my son to work assembling the poles which he did with ease since they all have a cord inside that helps snap them together. The parts are not labeled, but they make sense for assembly anyway. After sorting all of the poles, I rolled the tent out onto a tarp base that I purchased to protect the bottom of the tent. We quickly inserted the poles into the top of the tent and had the main dome up in a matter of 10 minutes. After that, the rest of the assembly took only another 10 minutes, including the rain fly. The fly was a challenge to put on the tent with only one adult since the tent is so tall, but I managed to get it in place. So far, the rain fly is my only concern because after securing it in place, it caused the two smaller rooms on the back side of the tent to deform slightly. I did not mark this rating down however, as after looking at it, my back yard is somewhat unlevel, and I believe that is the cause for this deformation. I will report back after I have had a chance to assemble later on level ground on our first camping trip.

I have to say that walking into this tent for the first time was a real treat. This is the first tent I have ever owned which allowed me to stand upright inside. The two smaller rooms on the back side are shorter, however, I think most people will use these rooms for storage. The room divider runs parallel with the front door of the tent, with a single zipper that runs from top to bottom in the middle. The two halves of the divider separate and tie up at the sides so you can comfortably walk underneath. It looks like the 17.5 foot wide back half of the tent will comfortably accomodate two queen sized air mattresses, which is what we plan to put inside. This leaves the front half of the tent to put our other items. Of course you will be able to set the interior up however you would like. There are little pockets all over the inside of the tent which will allow us to stow smaller items like keys, phones, kids toys, or even shoes. As far as the build of the tent is concerned, it seems well made with good solid materials and craftsmanship. The floor is not a solid piece, however, it is "a sonic-welded polyethylene floor" and I have no reason to believe that the welded seams would ever leak. As I said above the tent has been out in rainy conditions for five hours now. Even without seam sealer, the tent has only one very small leak in the back, and that leak has amounted to about half the size of a dollar bill. Not bad for steady rainfall. I will be buying a seam sealing kit soon and taking care of all of the seams inside. Once that is done, I think this tent will be everything we need and more for a family of four.

I just went on a 7 dsy csmping trip with this tent and just like my last Swiss tent this one was worth EVERY penny! Tons of space, plus we had very wet weather this trip and of the 12 people that camped with us we were the ONLY ones that had a water tight tent! Ozark trail has nothing on Swiss Army! Not only was it Water tight, but while we were throwing the football around my boyfriend landed on the side of the tent and collapsed the whole side of it, I wanted to beat him for ruining my new tent, but all I did was pull one pole back into place and the whole tent popped right back into place! I will NEVER buy another tent that isn't Swiss Army brand!

We bought this for a family weekender to sleep between 4 and 6 people comfortably using air mattresses. I spend a lot (too much time according to my wife) investigating all brands for a comparable price/value/& features. We chose this on the web for what appeared to be the best value. We were not disappointed! The tent has plenty of room, and set up easily. It IS worth a dry run to set up because you won't look like a jerk when you have to set this up with others around the camp sight. :-) Plus a few tiny things required in the learning curve for a first timer.

The back "rooms" fit ONE Queen sized mattress for each room. (It's not a perfect fit but it works well enough. It's tight but your living space is between the "rooms" in the middle) We configured two twins flanking the outsides of the entrance way. This slept six comfortably and we could easily sleep another three with sleeping bags. (or say four kids). The center divider allows for good privacy and fun for kids.

We got no dew in the inside as the tent breaths well. Frankly the many time campers we camped with (10 families) thought we had the best tent. I was bragging about the $200 number for what we got. We didn't have time to do a seam reinforcement and I'll do that the next time we camp. We didn't have any nasty weather so I can not comment on the tents water integrity but it appeared comparable to others at the site. The tent looks great, has plenty of room, breaths well, and I would recommend it for a family that seeks comfort vs high end ruggedness or light weight.

Enjoy.

Maytag Filter - water filter, water filtration

You gotta hand it to Maytag - they made replacing the water filter very simple. Took all of about 30 seconds from start to finish. And about 20 seconds of that was wiping up the water that dripped out of the old filter when I pulled it out, so the next change should go even better ;-)

We have a family of six and we drink water almost exclusively, so I went ahead and changed the filter at six months just like the owner's guide recommended. However, I could see no evidence that the filter was near its end of life and am convinced that I can get more use out of the filters than the suggested six months. I will try to keep an eye on things, but without a little window I really have no way other than flow to know what is going on.

And that is why I gave this a rating of four stars. The filter seems to work wonderfully and replacement is a breeze, but I would be happier if I could look at the state of the filter while it is in use. Maytag UKF8001 PuriClean II Refrigerator Cyst Reducing Water Filter, 1-Pack (Discontinued by MFG 2009)

My Ice Cube make was having major problems. Ice Cubes were hollow and Ice was sticking on the White Prongs that pop the cubes out. I called Amana and they were no help so I figured that the Cube maker was not getting enough water flow.

I replaced with this filter and now the Ice Cube maker is like new and the water shoots out of the dispenser like crazy. What used to take 25-30 seconds to fill a glass of water now takes 3-5 seconds.

So if you are having Ice Cube issues or poor water flow buy this.

It's a little expensive for a water filter but it's worth it.

Oh and the water tastes good too.

This is a very expensive item for what you get, and it certainly doesn't last as long as they say it does. The taste of your water coming through this filter is great for the first month or so, but then the quality drops noticeably quick.

I think the price of this item is unfairly high, but once you buy a refrigerator that needs them, you're stuck. You either buy the filter or put up with nasty tasting water from your refrigerator spigot.

A good rule of thumb, if you're buying one filter, better buy two, because you'll need a new one quicker than you think.

This item was exactly what I needed and at a good price. This item is sometimes difficult to find in stores and the price is usually a litle bit higher. The item was shipped quickly and I did not have any problems installing it.

Fast delivery of an important feature of the family refrigerator. This is a water filter that screens particles and odors out of chilled water dispenser. It is sturdy, easy to install and very reliable. Buy it, you'll be satisfied.

Cell Phone Signal Booster - antenna boosters, cell phone accessories

Stop wasting your money. This is electronic snake oil!!! I'm an engineer with over 35 years experience in RF communication. Trust me; this device will do nothing to improve your reception. In fact if it does anything, it might actually detune your cell phones internal antenna and decrease its performance.

The cell phone industry is extremely competitive. Cell phone manufactures spend tens of millions of dollars designing their phones for optimum performance. They employ some of the finest engineering minds in the world. Doesn't logic tell you that if a few bits of foil could dramatically improve a phones performance they would have already incorporated it into their designs? Cellular Innovations A-BOOSTER Universal Cell Phone Antenna Booster

These things are just a confidence trick. They don't do a thing. They can't do a thing. If you believe these make your phone work better then you probably find the stripes down the side of cars make them go faster too.

Folks, this is nothing more than a sticker with a design on it.

It can in no way, and does in no way improve reception at all.

They were selling these for $20, now I see they are down to $1, and even that is a rip off, unless you are a collector of quack devices, in which case, you must have this for your collection of quack devices from this century.

I am keeping mine in it's bubble package and display it on the wall near my test bench.

One day these will be worth something as collectors items, but don't get one beleiving that it can actually do what it claims, because that is physically impossible.

I bought a pack of these years ago thinking that it might do something for me.... There is a reason it is so cheap. It is nothing more than a sticker made to look like some kind of super thin circuit board. You are better off putting one of those smiley face or star stickers from the kindergarten "good job" board on your phone.

Bought this in conjunction with an actual WiFi booster device, which for me was equally worthless. But at least this one was like only $3 whereas the Z-Boost wifi booster was considerably more. They should stick these things in Cracker Jack boxes because it's nothing but a gimmick. - Cell Phone Accessories - Cell Signal Booster - Signal Booster - Antenna Boosters'

Video Glasses - bravia, video glasses

A parital reason I decided to go with Sony for my new HD3dTV was the performance of the the 3d shutter glasses and their comfort. Glasses are not really the correct terms as these are more like goggles that will fit over a pair of regular glasses. They are totaly enclosed and shut out most light from the tops and sides. They do dim the picture a bit but most 3dTV's compensate for this by getting much brighter in 3d mode. They work well with in the the range they are intended. If you tilt your head more than 10 degrees of so either left or right the 3d effect is lost. Opperation is simple with a single button to push on and off. They're semi adjustable for those with smaller heads but if you have small children like me then you will need to get the BR50's which are narrower lighter and more like a regular pair of glasses. Part of what I enjoyed was the fact that they do block most ambient light from all but in front. They are fairly hefty and you will start to feel their wieght right about the time the credits role in a two hour movie, but then I don't normally wear glasses and I start to feel that way after two hours in a pair of sunshades, YMMV. Unlike the Panasonics and Samsungs glasses I tried, you can still opperate a laptop or anything else with them on and not get a lot of flicker. The other brands tended to cause every other light source to flicker except for the TV's which only flickered when the glasses were out of sync. The Sony's sync very qucikly and don't reset during bright parts of the movie ala the Panasonics. They could be lighter but frankly they feel quite sturdy and not nearly as fragile FEELING as other brands I've tried. They are battery powered by a standard CR2032 watch battery and last for about 80 hours of viewing. If you watched a 2 hour 3d movie every night, plus a football game every week they'd last just over a month. That was a concern for me until I did the math. The Sony sell for about $100 vs the other brand reacharbles which go for $150. With batteries selling for about $8 for a pack of 10 it would take 4 years of watching at that rate to see any savings on the rechargables. Overall they work well though I wished they came with a hard case instead a velvet pouch. Sony TDG-BR100 Adult Size 3D Active Glasses, Black

3d Glasses work great.

Sounds like most of the bad reviews are user error.

I do wish Sony would just integrate their transmitter with their 3d TVs.

I install 3d TVs all the time for a Home Theater company.

I personally think Sony has the best 3d. Samsung and Panasonic are great to.

Don't even mess with Mitsubishi, too many compatibility issues.

As for the Sony glasses, I think they are the most durable.

Love my Sony 55NX810.

As for a Blu-Ray player, just get a Playstation. It updates automatically, 3d games are awesome, Gran Turismo 3d is out of this world.

When I first connected the 3D transmitter to the TV and tried watching a 3D Blu-ray, I encountered a few break-ups of the 3D experience. It was then that I discovered I had the transmitter pointing toward the TV and not toward me. Once that was corrected, the break-ups stopped. I'm actually surprised they managed to work as well as they did before I discovered my problem.

The glasses shut-off automatically only when there is no 3D signal. That's done to save batteries. As long as you're watching a 3D feature, the glasses continue operating without any problems at all.

We ordered the 3D starter kit from Sony which included two pairs of these glasses; we have now used them for 3D viewing for a few weeks now.

My first impression was they were heavy and tight on my head; I discovered later that the frames temples can be adjusted to better fit each individual wearer very easily. Now they fit much better and are reasonably comfortable. My wife needs glasses to watch the TV and these 3D glasses fit over her other glasses very nicely.

I believe that the glasses must be turned on by pressing a small switch on the right side; as one reviewer has pointed out the glasses turn themselves off after 5 minutes with no 3D signal from the transmitter. The soft case is a little tight but the glasses can be worked in with some care.

As an audio/video hobbyist I have often found myself on the cutting edge of technology (occasionally known as the bleeding edge). The question now is how will this technology progress; will it die on the vine or blossom into something very special. I cannot answer that question at this time but must acknowledge that I have been encouraged by the promotional disc sent to me by Sony, "3D World."

This was sent because I purchased a Sony HDTV and has some very remarkable footage on it. The most exciting to me was a video of a football game; the depth of field was the best I have ever seen anywhere. One could look at the action in the foreground and see sharp images in motion; but then look at the people standing on the far side of the field and see clear sharp images in the distance as well. This was far and away the most realistic use of 3D I have ever seen and it was all actual footage, not animation.

The reason I mention this is that it encourages me to think about what might be done in the future as engineering and production expertise develops and improves. This is new technology and I have often experienced the progression in quality as experience enhances the results. I have seen a few other 3D films but none have even come close to the quality shown in this promotional disc!

If the industry as a whole can begin to incorporate the improvements shown in this disc, the world of 3D reproduction for the home is going to be a very exciting place. Having purchased a 3D TV and all of the required accessories, I truly hope this happens!

In the meantime prices will probably come down if the technology takes off; if you're willing to take the chance, the 3D experience right now is entertaining and filled with hope. - Video Glasses - 240hz - Bravia - 3d Movies'

Battery Replacement - battery replacement, ups

After 14 years, the backup battery for my security system failed causing loss of the pin code during a transient power failure. The replacement was an exact match to the original and worked as expected. Fast delivery and good price. Much less costly than having the alarm company do it!. Power-sonic PS-1270F1 - 12 Volt 7 Amp Hour Sealed Lead Acid Battery with 0.187 Fast-on Connector

The battery in stock did not pass the pre-ship power check. Portable Power Systems, Inc notified us immediately there would be a couple day delay or they could ship a better quality battery for the same price. We had the battery in two days. It installed easily and is functioning perfectly. Who could ask for more?!!

This battery was a great price and came promptly. I installed it easily and initially it did not register in my alarm system, but in a short time it fixed itself. I think it had to just charge a little to get recognized.

This battery was bought for a security system battery backup solution to replace my original battery that finally stopped holding a charge. So far this battery is holding up very well and showing signs of good reliability. Right after replacing my battery we had a power outage due to a falling tree and this battery kept my system running without issue. I haven't had this battery for a long time yet so though I may be doing this review prematurely I feel confident that this product will hold up for years to come. Most importantly this battery solution was so affordable I would recommend anyone to first try a battery solution through Amazon or somewhere online as you will save ten fold. Overall this product scored a 5 out 5 because it successfully operates as described and more.

12v sealed lead acid battery for hobby project replaced identical unit which had been in service for many years before failing. New unit was delivered within a few days, very well packed, and works perfectly.

Powersonic PS-1270F1 - 12 Volt/7 Amp Hour Sealed Lead Acid Battery. I ordered two for Fishfinder on my Kayak. Works well and recharges to 13 Volts. Each battery will power the electronic device for a day of fishing. Good bottom ballast, but not too heavy. - Battery - Ups - Battery Replacement'
