Ipod Adapter - mp3 cassette adapter, mp3 accessories

Received an MP3 player for Christmas but had no way of listening to the music on it in our vehicle. Purchased this item to fill that void. Works great and the stereo sound is actually quite impressive. Car Stereo Audio Cassette Tape Adapter for MP3, iPod, Nano, Touch, CDs, Nomad, Sansa, Zune & More

I've been using this for almost a month now, and it has worked perfectly first time, every time. I'm using it in a cassette player in a '92 Honda Accord. What a great tool! And for just a little over two dollars!!

This is an inexpensive cassette tape adapter, however it easily worked on my car and the quality is not bad. I am very happy with the purchase, have been using it for a week now and there has been no issue. The good think is one does not need to do any re-wiring to be able to use his/her mp3 player.

Great Product. Cost less than $3.00 and shipping was fast. Product exactly as described. Does the job. Seems like it'll last. I bought another company's car stereo adapter for $15 and it lasted less than 3 months and this one is at least as good as that if not better.

Thanks, great buy.

You only need to give this product time. Most people say it doesn't adapt to their stereos. They just didn't try hard enough. Give it a few tries pushing it in and out pushing a few buttons. Try ejecting it before it automatically does it itself. Make sure your iPod, CD player, or Mp3 is playing the music. Straighten the wire out while it's trying to read the tape. Do this about ten times. It will work. I was amazed by how well it worked after I got it to play. I enjoy this product very much. - Adapter - Ipod - Mp3 Cassette Adapter - Mp3 Accessories'

Digital Camera Accessory

I just got this remote control a few days back, and so far I am pretty satisfied with it. The shipment was prompt and it arrived even faster than some of the Amazon's own products. I am using it with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi. I chose it over some alternative products due to its compact size, and that comes in handy when lugging around a whole bunch of camera add-ons. I only have a couple of problems with it:

1. The user-instruction sheet is very poorly written and not very clear on a couple of crucial steps of the set up. It would have been more useful to have something that explains the set up in some detail with each one of the Canon products for which it's meant to be used.

2. The range of the remote is rather limited. I have not measured it exactly, but it seems that it doesn't work beyond 15 feet away.

7-28-2008 Update.

Since it seems that a lot of people are having problems with the instructions that came with this item, I decided to post a simple set-up procedure that worked for me:

1. Turn on the camera.

2. Press the "Drive mode" menu button. This is the same button as the left arrow on my camera.

3. Toggle between different setting using left and right arrow.

4. Make sure that the "Self-timer/Remote control" option is highlighted.

5. Press set button.

6. You are ready to roll. Point the remote to the camera (from the front of the camera) and press either the upper "S" (for immediate shooting) or "2S" (for 2s delayed shooting) buttons.

11-19-2009 Update.

From what I understand, the other buttons are meant to be used with Canon's point-and-shoot cameras. "S" is for shooting, and "W" and "T" are for zooming out/in. They will not work Canon's DSLR cameras. Opteka RC-4 Wireless Remote Control for Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT, XTi, XSi, T1i, T2i, T3i, 60D, 7D & 5D Mark II Digital SLR Cameras

The remote is handy, small and it does what it is supposed to do. It looks quite good I might say and I am very happy I took this instead of canon original. For this kind of simple products (not high-tech) it is not worth paying for the brand.

After setting the camera in the "remote mode" then press S/2S and you'll get the picture.

On the other hand, the limited acting distance is what I expected. It is the same as with the TV set remote. You can not use infrared from very long distance

Fabulous, pocket size, help you to work off camera not touching it at all and no having troubles with cables. Now I'm sometimes in the photos I take.

Perfect working condition, cheap (not the hard prices of the Canon originals)and battery is available practically everywhere.

I would recommend it for everyone having a Canon EOS.

Directions were not very clear and were not written in perfect english. This isn't just for Cannon cameras, it's a generic product that works on several cameras. The best I can tell,only one of the buttons on the remote actually work with the Cannon Rebel, which is what I bought it for. The other buttons are useless and do not work with my camera. I can take a picture remotely, so I guess it does work. Just disappointed in that it was advertised for the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT, XTi (my camera), and the XSi, but is really for multiple cameras and the only button that works is the shutter button.

I just got the remote and I'm very pleased so far. It works with my Rebel T1i and you can use it for the BULB mode (click once to open shutter, click again to turn shutter off).

The 2S mode will take 2 second and then open the shutter.

Very happy so far and I hope the battery lasts.

Works great with the Canon XSi. I had a bit of an issue finding the setting on the camera, but one email to Opteka (with a quick response within a couple hours) and I had it working great. See below for setting up the Canon Rebel:

Please perform the following actions to get the remote to work on your Canon Digital Rebel:

1. Turn on the camera.

2. Press the "Drive mode" menu button.

3. Toggle between different setting using left and right arrow.

4. Make sure that the "Self-timer/Remote control" option is highlighted.

5. Press set button.

S (shutter release), and 2S (2 Second delayed shutter), are the only operative buttons for an SLR.

The S (shoot), W+T (zoom control), are for select powershot point-and-shoot cameras.

I love this camera remote. It actual has more functions than the one Canon sells for my Canon Digital Rebel XSi (450D). The range is awesome. I love the delay button... works great when doing self portraits. I use this remote all of the time when I'm shooting from my tripod. I highly recommend this remote to any camera user. So easy to use and it works flawlessly. Very impressed!'

Irish Gang

"The Black Donnellys" follows the story of four young Donnelly brothers -- Catholic Irish-American siblings in New York's infamous Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. The story is told by an unreliable narrator and Donnelly childhood friend named Joey 'Ice Cream' while being incarcerated. The series stars Jonathan Tucker, Thomas Guiry, Olivia Wilde, Billy Lush, Michael Stahl-David, Kirk Acevedo and Keith Nobbs. It was co-created by Paul Haggis and Bobby Moresco (best known for the movie "Crash").

The series debuted on NBC on February 26, 2007 and took the place of the troubled "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" on Monday nights. The series' initial half hour did well (10 million) but viewership fell off significantly in the second half hour (6 million). It never got any better.

NBC aired seven episodes but, with most of the rest of the network's schedule performing poorly, they had to drop it. They streamed the rest of the series online.

It's a real shame because "Donnellys" had some solid performances and interesting characters. If NBC had been doing better, they probably would have stuck with it and perhaps even renewed it for a second year. The Black Donnellys Season 1

The Black Donnellys is an amazing show that never should have been cancelled. The acting, writing and plotlines are outstanding. I was captivated by this show right from the pilot, and I'm not a huge fan of the mob genre. It is a shame that it was never allowed to reach the audience it should have. Throughout the season each episode just got better and better. This is a must have for anyone's collection.

The networks continue to pump junk down the throats of mind-numbed dumplings who I suppose want another season of Idol and more reality TV junk. Too bad for an excellent piece of work like TBD which captured a large audience, and treated them to a quality story, not one dumbed down and marketed for the soundbite and latte' crowd. Shame on NBC for not listening to their fans, and shame on any other network for not picking up a show that is sure to do nothing but grow a loyal and true audience. Kudos to the writes and the actors, but shame again on NBC.

When the pilot episode had aired, we were first engaged with a peculiar character named Joey "Ice Cream", who would later become the narrator for the rest of the story. He introduced us all to four Irish brothers, Jimmy, Tommy, Kevin and Sean Donnelly, who lived in the heart of Hell's Kitchen. Irish blood clashed with Italian blood.. and keeping the peace was quitely understood until one day. The Donnellys made a mistake by disrupting the peace and what was unknown to them.

As viewers, we were catapulted into a world of family hardships, corruption and misdoings. More characters were introduced, names that have become synonymous of characters in our own lives in one shape or form including: sweet Jenny and her father Mr. Reilly; Dokey Farrell, the brute and Irish bully; Nicky Cottero, the Italian rat; and the widowed Mrs. Donnelly, who only wanted to see her boys survive in a life of adversity. Throughout the season, we see the emotions erupt, motives unravel and suspicions revisited.

After viewing the second to last episode, we understand with clarity the core of the Donnelly family. Sean, the youngest, is clean of any misdoings and his brothers make sure that is how he stays.. innocent. Kevin acts as comic relief while being able to support his brothers both emotionally and physically. Jimmy is the oldest child, rough along the edges. He holds the family pride but is challenged with humility. Tommy is the strength of the family. He only does what he thinks will undo what is "wrong".. and realizes a world of manipulation and negotiation can only get you "right" for a period of time.

As the season drew to a close.. the second to last episode entitled "The Black Drop", was a rough and intense episode. With each episode we see the story escalate and the emotions heighten. With the final episode.. "Easy is the Way", The Black Donnellys will leave a lasting impression in your minds and your hearts.

The Black Donnellys is in my opinion the most amazing show on television. I say is because it's still on television on HDNet. Please check it out if you have that channel. You won't be disappointed. The cast is full of amazing actors and the crew are some of the best in the business. Buy the DVD collection when it comes out. You'll want it in your collection so you can watch it over and over whenever you want. And I guarantee that you'll want to.

Let me start by saying this. If Thomas Guiry (Jimmy Donnelly) does not get an Emmy nomination for Best Actor, he'll be robbed. The role of Jimmy Donnelly was a difficult, complex role to play and ran the gamut of emotions. Thomas Guiry had the role nailed from the first episode, and just got better and better with each one.

The same goes for Peter Greene (Dokey Farrell) and Kirk Acevedo (Nicky Cottero)in the Best Supporting Actor category. For Best Supporting Actress, Kate Mulgrew (Helen Donnelly) and Betsy Beutler (Jimmy's girlfriend Joanie) both turned in nomination worthy performances. In fact, this is the only show on TV this year that I can say every single cast member was great. There was not a bad performance by anyone, right down to smallest of roles. Other performers worth mentioning are Jonathan Tucker, who portrays the young, conflicted family leader Tommy Donnelly, and Billy Lush, whose subtle portrayal of Kevin Donnelly gets stronger and stronger with each episode as his character develops.

This is a "must have" DVD for those who appreciate a complex story that draws you in and leaves you wanting to knnow the next chapter.

This show has brought a lot of people together and I know that it's fans are truly in shock by NBC's descion. I decided to order this product because of the emails I get everyday asking me why they cancelled such an awesome show. I have really no news to say at the moment, but I know that one of my co-workers recently reunited with some of the crew to discuss season 2. I don't exactly know how that went because she hasn't emailed me back, nor have I heard anything from anyone else, but The Black Donnellys is one hell of show. Therefore, there is absolutly no reason why you shouldn't buy it.'

Alkaline Batteries

I'm pretty used to buying batteries online and finding they had been made long before I ordered them (had some CR123 with experations the next month from another vendor). In at least my case, my batteries from this vendor show a production date of 3/30/10...and I ordered them on April 18th. You can't get any younger batteries (exp is Mar2016). I'll be checking this distrbutor out for the rest of my battery needs. Duracell Batteries, D Size, 8-Count Packages (Pack of 2)

I got these about three weeks ago, and still haven't used them up yet. So many batteries. Awesome. So far, they've lasted about four times as long in my Canon digital point-and-shoot than my Energizer rechargeables. And they're on track to outperform the regular Energizers in my Xbox controllers. I think I'm a coppertop convert. The price is pretty good, too--probably not the absolute cheapest, but these are real Duracells (not knockoffs) that are far from their expiration date.

If you check out local stores, you will find these are at least a bit below retail sales price for these batteries. Batteries will always be around the same price, but a few dollars off is worth getting them through Amazon!

Although I'm sure my local fire department will cringe if they read this, I buy these things for our backups for our fire alarms and they last over 4 years! Wow! Now if I buy a knockoff brand, or even Energizer, I can only get 18 months out of them before they start squealing to be replaced. Plus, this 8 battery pack makes it awfully simple to have them around when it comes time to change them, and it's the right number for my house. Love these Duracells! Highly, highly recommend!

I tend to buy batteries based on two prime criteria. First, lithium for units that will have a long down time (since lithium holds its charge well over time, I hate to be surprised by an emergency flashlight that doesn't work); alkaline, for everyday appliances (it doesn't last as long, but the cost benefit ratio is beneficial). Second,I shop for a good price. Duracell alkalines are top of the line batteries that I prefer for all my everyday item, like remotes, clocks, mini-amps, etc. This particular offering is a great price, that I haven't matched anywhere.

Very highly recommended.

Live in foothills. After going through 3 days of no power and new storm coming, looked for D batteries and they were all sold out. Like the convenience of having enough and the price was right at Amazon!

Although I mostly use nimh cells these days for their higher current capacity and their green qualities of not being thrown away, there are things that still need alkaline batteries. Remote controlls can run 2 years on a set (although the eneloop cells are an option). Some flashlights need the 1.5 vs the 1.2 volt difference in alkaline cells and nimh. Also some times you don't have 4 charged up batteries ready to go, so alkaline is the alternative you pay for not keeping a set charged up.

I bought these when I bought my dad a weather station - it had about 5 outdoor devices, all used 2 ea alkaline batteries to run the radio remote weather sensors that transmit to the base station which used 4 AAs for backup if AC fails.

These are fresh date code, healthy cells and fill the bill just fine when you need them. NOTE - in some places where the outdoor equipment was hard to get to (have to climb on roof) I used the L91bp lithium alternative Energizer L91BP-8 Lithium AA Photo Battery (8-Pack) which you get about 8 cells for the price of 20 here, but they last 8 times longer, saving alot of trips to the roof to change the batteries. The down low sensors got alkaline cells instead. It's important to choose the right cell based on intended use, and this is one example. Also I have a temp sensor in the refrigerator that runs on lithium cells due to the low temp - they work fine at freezing temps, and will radio the temp to the weather station which has alarms set if the freezer fails.'

Point And Shoot - case logic, digital camera case

I was looking for good case for my Canon SX130 camera.. I found this case bought together with the camera which made me go and buy it w/o worry about it might not fit the camera..

It can hardly fit the camera but will never close if you tried to place the very basic accessories: couple of AA batteries and memory card.

Unfortunately, I have opened it otherwise, I'd return it and get bigger one that fits my camera, batteries and memory card. Case Logic DCB-302 Compact Camera Case (Gray)

This review is for owners of the ZS-7 looking for a camera case -

Case fits ZS-7 like a glove - perfect. Anything smaller will not work.

Case is well made, smart looking with red accents (black case).

The pouch in front will easily an extra battery or two (imp if you use the ZS7). Also has a pocket stitched in for holding memory cards (very convenient). The front pocket will not fit both the camera and its charger at the same time (it will fit the charger if there is no camera).

Other cameras with dimensions similar to the ZS-7 should do fine too.

I hope this review finds you with ease if you're an owner of a Nikon S8100. You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would, if you experienced what I did) the extremely difficult task of finding a case to fit my Nikon S8100 on Amazon. First off, most the suggestions for "Nikon S8100 Cases" in the search box are bogus. THEY DON'T FIT (per other user reviews for the cases, contradicting the title/headline of the items completely). This case fits PERFECTLY and has room in front compartment for an extra battery or two and memory cards.

Outside of the fit, the case is very durable and does not look or feel cheap at all. All in all, in my opinion, a great investment.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I truly hope this was very helpful to you.

I bought this case for a friend for her new Canon SX130IS. The case came up with the camera description as an "also bought" and if you search camera cases for Canon SX130IS, it also comes up. I loved the choice of colors and the compartment in the front. It has a nice strap and a belt strap on the back (which, by the way, must have the belt threaded through it; there is no Velcro to allow looping over the belt so you would need to undo your belt to take the case off the belt.) So all in all, a pretty good case. However, the case does not fit the camera for which it was purchased and advertised to fit. My friend could not fit the camera in the case and zip it up. Forget about putting batteries in the front compartment too with the camera (and you will need extra batteries with the SX130IS because it goes through them quickly). Now I am stuck with the case because she ripped off the hand tag, the only way to fit the camera in the case. You must have the hang tag on in order to return it. Bottom line, if purchasing a case for this Canon camera, look elsewhere. (I'm sure it's great for the right sized camera.)

I bought this camera pouch for Canon PowerShot SX130 IS but it is very small to accommodate my new camera. I have selected this bag because this pouch was recommended for this camera. So don't trust any recommendation provided by the site.

Planning to give it to my friend. - Point And Shoot - Case Logic - Digital Camera Case - Digital Camera'

Awesome

I got this at a local store on a whim and am sooo glad that I did! It's really strong and can fit tons of paper into each tray. I love that it will mount on a wall. I went back to get another one for sorting the kids' homework and the store had completely sold out already! Large enough for letter size or even construction paper, but not for legal. Wish they made it in black. Love it, though. Seville Classics Office Desk Organizer, Platinum Mesh 6-Trays

What a fantastic and well made product. Exactly what I needed to organize school work for the different subjects. I am also sure this will last a long time. Besides sitting on top of a desk, it also gives you the option to hang. The price was also unbeatable, considering it shipped directly to my house, and with free shipper savings.

This helps me keep my desk much more organized than if I'd decided against it. I have a nice printer (Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Inkjet Photo Printer) and have a variety of paper to print onto. This lets me keep all of it in one spot, nice and clean, without scrambling through drawers or closets to find the size I need. It comes with the hardware to hand it on the wall if desired (as well as pieces to hang it on a cubicle or similar type of wall), however I have not tried this out yet and cannot say how well it would work.

I bought my original Seville organizer at a local Costco. When I returned to purchase a second unit it was sold out, but I was able to find this great product on Amazon. It's very well constructed and works well on top of a file cabinet/desk or mounted on the wall. Excellent value.'

Vacuum Accessories - filters, roomba

This set isn't cheap, but it's worth it. I've got a Roomba 565, which I usually love, but the amount of cleaning the device itself requires is sometimes frustrating. 'Course, if I didn't have 4 cats, it might be less... ;) This set helps releve that frustration somewhat. This set comes with 3 filters that are basically identical to what came with the Roomba itself, plus one of the little spinning brushes that helps pull stuff out from corners and the wall (interestingly, with only 3 brushes to it instead of the 5 or 6 the original had), plus a beater bar and brush set. But the real gem here is the little red plastic brush cleaner. I don't know if this ships with the newer Roombas or not, but it should - this little thing is great. What you do with it is run the large brush through it and it strips all the fur, string, threads, etc. that get caught in the brush out and allows them to be thrown away all in one clump. No more picking all that stuff out of the brush by hand! Faster, better, and easier. Additionally, the brushes seem to be a better quality and do a slightly better job than the set that came with the Roomba - I'd imagine the folks at iRobot are always making design tweaks to things and it shows. iRobot 82401 Roomba R3 500 Series Replacement-Brush and Filters Kit

The brush in this kit was of better design than the original brush that came with my 500 series Roomba. It is a bit easier to clean and it seems as though not as much hair gets wrapped around the axle pin. It also feels as though the construction is more solid on this brush. I'll order this again.

Do I "love" new Roomba brushes? Not really, but this kit made my Roomba perform almost like new. In fact, the brush seems much better designed than the original. The original had a pair of plastic plates and the rotating knob on the end that would fall off during cleaning, and broke. I fixed them a few times, and then decided to buy this kit. The new parts are much better.

We ordered this for our older 500 series, and the brushes actually fit better than the original brushes it came with. Amazon's service was great too. Everything made it, and our roomba is back to cleaning our place for us!

I have had difficulty with thsi replacement pack as the brush is slightly larger than the original brush and it causes the roomba to stop constantly for cleaning and aligning. now it will not go over my low rugs as it did in the past.oh well guess I have to buy a new roomba.You think they planned it this way?

A little pricey, but brings new life to cleaning the carpets. I have hard wood with a few carpets that collect dog hair. I have a golden and the stiffer bristles really help to pick up the dust bunnies.

Great kit for a great price. I've had my Roomba for about 8 months and the original brushes wore out quick. The pin on the end of one of the brushes came out and I've been messing with it ever since. This kit was just what I needed. It's nice to finally have a brush that works right again and from what I can tell is much beefier than the factory brush that came with the Roomba

The brush cleaner works great. Everything else is just what it seems. I was surprised to see that my new higher end Roomba comes with many of these things. This kit was a good addition to my 400 series roomba though.

The new design brushes and sweeper piece really improved my Roomba's ability to pick up debris. I previously had the "red" brushes and the 5-prong sweeper, and they picked up a lot less than these newer designs. - Roomba - Replacement Parts - Roomba 560 - Filters'

Digital Camera Battery - digital camera, digital camera battery

The description on this item failed to mention that the power cord is included with the charger. Therefore, I purchased a separate cord. I thought it was weird that the two items needed to be bought separately. A better written description would be nice for future buyers. Otherwise, we are happy with this purchase. Losing the battery charger days before a big Alaska vacation (the house has eaten it and now that we've bought a new charger we are expecting the house to spit it out at any moment) is not good! Nikon MH-63 Battery Charger for Nikon EN-EL10 Lithium-ion Battery

I was looking for what seems like an eternity for my Battery Charger. Finally, I came to the inevitable conclusion that it was gone forever and I would never see it again. So I came on Amazon and ordered a replacement. Now I can use my camera again instead of my phone camera. Charger works perfectly. Fin.

I was pleased when I opened the package to discover this charger came with power cord as well. It wasn't mentioned in the description, but I had planned to use the one I have for my DSLR charger. Always buy name brand! This charger is way better than the one that came with my P&S (plug into the camera and leave the battery inside). I prefer to take the battery out to charge it and have a back up battery as well... I highly recommend this charger!!!

The product worked well, shipped fast, and there were no issues with the transaction. I would buy from them again. I bought the off brand charger for [...] bucks. It didn't work, I paid extra for shipping, and they didn't even refund the product.

Better off buying the real deal. Thanks for a good transaction.

the charger is a charger but it only comes with the charger and the extension cord so you DO NOT need to buy the extra cord unless it is like not part of the charger or you only need the cord or something

Ordered the charger several months ago and only recently had an occasion to use the camera (my college graduation). Lo and behold, the unit was defective! Make sure you test it out within 30 days, as that is how long their "warranty" is. What happened to the standard 1-year warranty? Oh well looks like I'll have to order another!

1.Nikon MH-63 Battery Charger for Nikon EN-EL10 Lithium-ion Battery I ordered the extra cord, because the description did not mention that the charger came with it.

2. My battery does not fit in the charger - a little too large. How do I send it back?? - Digital Camera Battery - Photography - Digital Camera - Rechargeable Batteries'

Nook Screen Protector - accessories, best

I'm going to do something I don't normally do. I'm going to start my review by begging you to buy this product when you're in the market for an e-reader screen protector. Seriously, don't get the other junk. You won't be happy, and then, once you do switch to this one, you'll see what I was talking about... After giving some other company your money for their unusable garbage.

M-Edge knows the e-reader business, apparently. All their accessories are decent (although a shade over-priced). However, you get quality with M-Edge, which is something lacking in the knock-offs.

Here's how it all went down for me:

I needed a screen protector for my Barnes & Noble Nook. I shopped around. The official one offered by B&N is *way* too pricey considering you only get one screen protector in the package. The knock-offs you'll find here and on other sites are much cheaper, so I decided I'd take a chance and spend a few bucks (plus shipping) to get one of those lower-cost screen protectors.

After applying the "anti-glare" knock off, the first thing I noticed (aside from the poor fit; It was a millimeter too big for the LCD screen) was that their idea of "anti-glare" apparently works out to mean "reflects like a shiny mirror". It was terrible. I've no doubt that it would protect the screen, but it also completely ruined the look and function of the e-ink screen. Who can read a book when your face is reflected back at you?

I removed the stupid knock-off and started looking for an alternative. Again, the B&N model didn't please me. I'm not spending fifteen bucks for just one of these things! Not when the application process, if not done *perfectly*, can ruin the screen protector. I wanted some back-up. I wanted some chances to screw it up, just in case!

Enter M-Edge. I found their product at brick & mortar store, and researched online. Oddly, I found no reviews. In fact, mine seems to be the first review for ANY of the M-Edge screen protectors on Amazon! OK, so that was a dead end. Luckily, I had a gift card for the Big Box store, and despite the fact that I was gritting my teeth at the price (twenty bucks) I decided to go for it and blow my gift card on the M-Edge version.

Now, as an aside let me give you a tip on applying these things: Do it in a bathroom, with the door closed, after running a steamy shower. You don't want the room totally "steam-up-your-glasses" steamy, but you want there to be some slight moisture in the air. Why? Because it keeps dust particles from floating around, and gives you a "clean room" in which to apply the screen protector with a far lower chance of dust getting on the screen during the application process. Trust me: It works (just be careful you don't dunk you electronics in the toilet! And don't do it IN the shower, either!)

Using the above method, I managed to get my first screen protector on with no problem... Except that I didn't wipe my screen well enough with the included microfiber cloth, and ended up with a dust mote under it. Being the picky sort, I stopped applying that one (but kept it as a backup) and tried again. Success! And since there were three for each screen, I still had one fresh, unspoiled set remaining!

With this M-Edge screen protector on your e-reader, you can't even tell it's there. It's a TRULY matte screen protector, and doesn't reflect anything. It looks great; Just what you want a screen protector for an e-reader to look like: INVISIBLE.

The touch-screen protector was also just as simple to apply, and worked just as well. The touch screen works great with it on. No problems whatsoever!

THE GOOD:

* Totally invisible if applied correctly.

* Truly matte surface, so it does not make your e-reader reflective or shiny.

* Three in one package is a good value compared to "official" versions that only include one.

* Excellent lint-free microfiber cloth is included (good for use on your e-reader (or glasses!) afterward)

* Fits Barnes & Noble nook, Amazon Kindle, and Sony Reader Touch.

* Includes LCD touch screen protectors for Barnes & Noble nook.

* Seems to be less "touchy" during application process than competing knock-offs.

THE BAD:

* On Barnes & Noble nook, the e-ink screen protector is about 1.5mm too short if you start flush with the bezel. It's not that noticeable, but it could fit a *little* better.

* For the price, I'd have expected they'd include a nice little plastic widget for applying the screen protector, instead of having me use a credit card.

* While it's a good value compared to direct competition, it's still pretty pricey for six sheets of plastic and a microfiber cloth.

THE UGLY:

* Nothing. This product doesn't have any failures or major problems.

BOTTOM LINE: This is the best screen protector kit for the Nook, Kindle, or Sony Reader Touch on the market, and the best value considering you get three protectors in one package (six for the Nook, technically). Please, please, please don't waste your time or money on the cheap knock-offs. They just don't compare. They're not even the same product, really. Yes, this is pricey, but trust me: You'll be happy you spent the money for the better product.

Noaa - weather radio, emergency radio

This is a good weather radio.

Pros:

- It allows you to program the S.A.M.E. codes for weather alerts for selected counties.

- The speaker can reach a good volume without distortion.

- Reception of weather signal is very good.

- Travel mode enables easy finding of strongest signal

- Alert can be display, tone, or tone followed by voice

- Rechargeable battery with dock

- Feels nice in the hand, good grip

- Strong belt clip

So why only 3 stars?

Any button press produces a loud beep. Even button presses to turn the volume all the way down produce loud beeps. There is no way that I can find to turn this "feature" off. This should be a no-brainer for Midland. All of my other electronic devices that have a beep option have the ability to turn it off.

If you wanted to listen to the weather forecast and had family or roommates sleeping and you wanted to turn the volume down to not bother them, in order to turn the volume down you would have to press the volume button several times, with each time making a loud beep.

If you wanted to set the alarm for the next day, and had family or roommates sleeping, each button press needed to set the alarm would produce a loud beep.

I hope that I am overlooking something and that there is a way to turn the beeping off. If that is the case, I will be happy to delete this review and post a 5 star review. Midland HH54VP2 Portable Emergency Weather Radio with SAME (Black)

I purchased the package with the rechargeable battery pack. Very impressed with the standby life of the battery. Took it on a 2 week trip, listened to forecasts a few times per day, left it on during 2 severe weather episodes, still had battery left at the end of the trip.

Why not 5 stars? There is an audio confirmation "beep" everytime you press a button, including the volume, that is WAY too loud. No instruction to shut this feature off, e-mails to Midland asking for a work-around have gone unanswered.

We bought this as a replacement for an older weather alert radio that was beginning to fall apart from old age. The charging base is nice, but even better, if you are travelling for an extended period, you can disconnect the AC adapter from the base and take it along to charge the radio directly. You can also use the supplied battery pack and standard AA batteries interchangably, The radio also offers several alert options that our old unit didn't have. We are impressed with the features Midland has included in this package!

I purchased this radio a few months ago but unfortunately didn't use it right away so now I missed my opportunity to return it. When I did open it, I fully charged it and then checked out some of it's features. It all seemed to work fine until the next day and I noticed the battery was dead. I fully charged it again and within 24 hours it was dead again. Long story short, after a few weeks, the battery will not longer take a charge at all in the cradle. I tried plugging the dc directly into the radio and the clock and all comes up and everything seems to work. But, after having some storms come through, the radio never alerted us. We own a different Midland radio and that one did alert us. We purchased this one because of its travel feature and rechargeable batteries, both of which failed. This radio is a piece of junk. Save your money. My parents bought a travel weather radio a few years ago from Radio Shack and it is still working. Go there! :)

Reception is good. Easy to operate. sound quality is good for such a small unt. Travel mode is a good feature. Needs a car charger. Battery life is short on the first charge(less than 24 hours)but gets better on the second and consecutive charges. Three second delay on the power button and beep when a button is pressed are very anoying features. You need a microscope to read the manual. It does the job for the price.

I had the radio setup in under a minute. Very easy. Not a ton of bells and whistles, but it has everything you need. The rechargeable battery is a nice feature (no batteries to replace). Would highly recommend this model over the Oregon Scientific radio. I've owned a couple of the Oregon radios and the Midland is much easier to setup with a comparable feature set.

I have had this weather radio for close to a year now. My first radio, a non-portable non-Midland, failed to work after only a few months. I then bought this portable Midland and have been very happy with it. We keep it on to hear severe weather alerts. In the midwest, this means thunderstorms, high winds, tornadoes, or winter storms. It has a Home and a Travel mode. The Travel mode allows it to search for the different weather signal sources as you travel. The rechargeable batteries have been working well. - Weather Radio - Noaa - Emergency Radio'

UPDATES IN THE LAST PARA

I have clarified a few things that other reviews had issues with and gave it a low rating.

For Starters: Since I use Both Mac & PC, I can 1000% say that it works on both these operating systems.

Some customers had issues with the drive going into sleep mode after 10 mins or so. Well, the copying process does not stop, just because the drive has gone into SLEEP mode.

You can take this SLEEP feature off by:

Process 1: Downloading a Free Seagate Manager program available on the Seagate website.

(I did not do this, I used process 2, described next)

OR

Process 2: Formatting the drive and remove the pre-installed Seagate software. Then the drive will NOT go to SLEEP Mode.

How to Format a Drive in Windows:

Plug the Drive --> Go to My Computer --> Right click on the Seagate icon--> Click "Format"

How to Format a Drive in Mac 10.4 or earlier:

Open Macintosh HD --> Click Applications --> Click Utilities --> Open "Disk Utility" --> Select the Seagate disk listed on the Left Side --> Click "Erase" tab --> Choose Volume Format to "MS-DOS" (I chose this so that I can use it on Windows & Mac).

(For the newer MAC 10.6.1 or later, I guess Format is : "Mac OS Extended (journaled)", as rightly pointed out to me by a learned customer IB...Thanks dude!)

Design: Compact & Sleek. Little bigger than the iPhone, but lighter than the iPhone (8GB)

Connection: NO A/C Power outlet needed. Only single USB port is needed, everything provided in the box. So you just take it out and plug it and use it.

Compatibility: Both PC & Mac. Although on the box it says "FOR PC", it was detected by my MAC and will work with both.

Size: Though it says 500GB, we get 465.35GB. And this is the case with most hard drives.

Speed: Forget about the specifics - it is FAST!!

Well worth your money, right!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~UPDATE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many customers have asking me why the format process did not work for their Mac?
The reason is, I have a Mac version 10.4.1 and I clarified that in the review.I guess there are a few changes for 10.6.1 and I added that too. If your MAC OS does not fit the description, the best way to start is by finding out OS version of your MAC & then search online on how to format it OR take it to an apple store.
Basically, the STEPS on how to format remain the SAME. But you might find some different Volumes Format based on your OS version. Volume Format will change as new Operating Systems (OS) keep sprouting.
When I bought this drive, there was not a single review which spoke about MAC Compatibility, let alone the other issues. But I took the risk and bought it for $100 or so.
Also, if you compare other reviews vs. mine. My review does not speak about how many songs I have on my drive, who gifted me this, how my life has changed with the new drive, how my office folks like it, how it fits in my pocket although the it is a trouser from my high school.
No offense, they are good individually. What I mean is....one review answer about plug n play....another spoke about light weight (by how much they didnt say)...another complained SLEEP issue...But none answered MAC compatibility, Format, Weight etc
My review has even answered everything that can happen with this drive. (Except that "What will happen if it breaks down" :P ) Seagate Expansion 250 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive ST902504EXA101-RK
---update at end---
I purchased this drive a few weeks ago and have been very pleased with it. The only junk it was the warranty registration program. Run it then delete it. Disk comes pre-formated for NTFS. I went ahead and did a quick format to get rid of the existing folders on it. The drive goes into standby mode after 5 minutes bye default. This is quickly remedied and set to your liking with free Seagate Manager program available on Seagates website. Also this program give you the ability to do backups, and computer syncs.
Pros -
Quiet drive
very fast
small and sleek
no power supply needed
only requires use of one usb port
Simple/Custom Backups with Seagate Manager
Sync Option with Seagate manager
Cons-
Goes into standby in 5 minutes by default. Easily changeable with Seagate Manager
Case Logic Compact Portable Hard Drive Case listed as an option to purchase with this is TOO SMALL for this drive. This is an issue with Amazon not the drive itself.
Overall I am very please with this drive I have used it on multiple laptops and pcs without issue. I would suggest this over the new WD essential drives that come pre-installed with a bunch of crapware.
------UPDATE--------- 12/17/2010
First Google seagate freeagent download select the Seagate link then select Free Agent GO link. File name is FreeAgentCN.ZIP
I have have used this drive for the last year still performs as well today as it did a year ago. This is still a great buy. - 250 Gb - Portable Hard Drive - Usb Hard Drive - Seagate'
Toner Cartridge - toner cartridge, toner
I get 800 to 1100 extra copies from each cartridge.
After the "Toner Life End" message appears, it refuses to print even one more copy. Offensive...until you show it who's in charge.
Remove the cartridge and find 2 clear plastic port holes, one on each side. The printer shines a light through these to decide when to shut you off. But it's too sudden and too early.
Cover one or both windows with a small piece of masking tape. You can put the tape on the outer drum unit holes if you prefer. I get about 3400 copies per cartridge instead of 2400.
I really like Brother printers now that I have taught them some manners.
To save even more money try 4 Pack Brother TN-350 TN350 Toner Refill Kit by Laser Tek Services. Brother Black Toner Cartridge (TN-350)
I had this rushed a few weeks ago because my HL-2070N kept refusing to operate every ~20 pages due to a low toner error. However, unlike on most laser printers, the print quality was still perfect at this point -- no streaking or blank spots. The problem is that the printer senses that it is nearing the end of the cartridge and refuses to continue, even with toner remaining.
Based on some web searching, it seems that the sensor is based on shining light into a ~1/4" hole on the side that goes through the entire length of the cartridge. Covering this hole with black electrician's tape has let me print a few hundred more pages, with no problems so far and still no sign that the toner is running out.
So, it's good to have a spare on hand, but it hasn't yet been necessary to install it.
I am a fan of brother DCPs and MFCs because they have excellent scanning and come with PaperPort scanning document managment software. I have a brother multifunction at every one of the 7 workstations in my law firm.
I purchased several DCP 7020s because the price was under $200 each. But they use these TN 350s which are a total rip off. Here are the specs. These TN-350s cost $43 and claim a capacity of 2500 pages.
Other Brother printers use higher capacity toners, such as the TN-580, which is rated at 7,000 pages and cost $63. Do the math. The cheap printer turns out much more expensive very quickly because you go through toners so fast. With a claimed capacity of 2500, in reality you're lucky to get 2000 pages. Imagine buying a new toner for every 4 reams of paper you go through! SO, I as soon as I get my first "change drum" message, I am going to trash these little Brothers and get one of their higher speed larger models. The extra couple hundred on the equipment will be paid off in toner savings in no time.
The title on the description and the picture leads you to believe that this is an OEM genuine product but it appears to be a remanufactured product when it arrived. Do not buy if you want orignial OEM Brother TN-350.
This supply is used for other printers besides those listed in the product description. The printers are listed on the box: DCP-7020, FAX-2820, HL-2040, MFC-7220, MFC-7420, FAX-2920, HL-2070N, MFC-7225N, MFC-7820N. The supply was used in our 7820n, which is the best Multifunction we've owned, bar none.
When my 'toner' light when on on my printer even before my prints started to look faded, I was suspicious that there was still more usable life and toner in the cartridge. After doing an internet, search, I discovered that if you put masking or electrical tape over the hole on the side of the toner cartridge, you can get 1000 more prints out of it!
There is a passthrough hole where the printer shines a light through the cartridge. Cover that up, and the printer still thinks there is plenty of toner and will continue to work. When your prints start coming out faded, you can then replace the toner cartridge. Much more environmentally friend and cost effective than to replace it when the print thinks you should, even if it's not empty.
It's good toner that will last you a while. I just want to reiterate a tip someone else wrote in though. If you cover the holes on the side with electrical tape, you can 'trick' the printer into printing the rest of the toner that's left in the cartridge. Have you noticed when the printer says low on ink, the last page it printed out was still perfectly printed? It means you've still got toner left because the printer measures toner level by flashing a light into the holes, which is not at the bottom. I know this tip saved my butt when I was trying to print some last minute college papers as well as the difference between the store price and the price found here.
As is the case with most/all laser & inkjet printers, the initial cartridge(s) which come with the product have less ink than the standard product. This is the replacement / standard toner cartridge for my printer and it works just great -- as expected. Installation was a snap. They include a return label so the cartridge can be recycled in a relatively painless way. The return instructions say to drop it at a USPS location but I just put it at my mailbox and the postman took care of it. A+ all over. - Toner Cartridge - Laser - Cartridge - Toner'
Canon Eos - canon eos, 18-135mm
I've taken photos and video most of my life, now I am the typical father paparazzi, my subjects are my family, with some nature landscapes and city architecture mixed in.
First this camera replaced my original capture the moment kit, which included a Nikon D80 DLSR and a Samsung HD-1010 Digital Video Camera. I sold them both after owning this for a week. They are simply not needed anymore. It's very nice to be able to go to my kid's soccer games and not look like I am bringing a production crew. One camera for killer photos and video. I use this camera 70/30 photos/video, and it is just a pleasure to work with.
What I like for photography:
Excellent pictures - Even with the stock 18-135 lens, solid photos, great details, and very very crop-able. Yes this is not an L Lens but it is still very good
Low light performance - The ISO high iso speeds work well when you can't use a flash, there is still some noise but its manageable, the default setting for upper end iso is 3200, so that tells you how confident Canon is with its camera's ability to handle noise.
Solid camera (my friend has the 7D, there is a difference when handling them, but not much, all the talk of metal vs. plastic frame I think is overrated)
Very fast focus, yes its not the 32 point next gen autofocus, but in all my tests when not using live view it does just fine transitioning between focus points.
Fast shooting speed almost 6 fps is very good, and thought 3 fps was good. (I also like the 2 settings for shooting speed, normal and high speed)
Built in Wireless flash control. I also bought the 430EX II, and 3 button pushes later I had the speed light firing while it sat off camera behind the subject, and that is very cool
Great Canon Software (I use a Mac, and I love the USB interface software, you can completely control the camera from your computer
Custom Shooting mode - Exact what it sounds like, its nice touch
The flip out rotating screen is very sharp, probably one of the best I've seen on a DSLR. I don't shoot much live view though.
It uses SD, only because I had plenty of SD cards from my last two devices.
What I don't like photography:
The lock button on the mode selector, it turns changing the shoot mode into a 2 handed operation
The lack of dedicated buttons - I know they had to save space when they added the vari-screen, but I liked having quick one touch access to bracketing on my Nikon
This isn't a "don't like" it's more "I could do without" all the preset modes on the wheel. People who are going to spend $1000+ on a camera most likely don't need a preset called landscape or portrait. Maybe they were trying to fill the space on the wheel?
Also all this hupla about in camera processing and special effects, it seems a bit gimmicky to me. I have a plenty of Macs with big beautiful screens to do this, heck I could do it with an iPad now if I really wanted to. I can't see someone trying to color correct on the camera especially since it's not like you could transmit the edited file directly from the camera, it still has to go through a computer somewhere along the line. These might be useful if my camera came with built-in 3G or something, otherwise not so much.
What I like video:
Video performance is excellent, head over to vimeo.com and look at all the sample footage, it is just astounding. I've experimented with the 50/1.8 lens and wow the DoF is crisp in the video. You would need some expensive lens adapters to get these results with a camcorder.
The flip out screen! This is main reason I bought this camera, It never made sense to me how I could shoot proper video without those expensive view finder liveview converter things. Plus I thought they looked silly. Now with this, I hold the camera at just above waist level close to my body with the screen flipped out and up, it makes for stable video and relatively easy manual focus if you want to use it.
Manual controls are also very useful for video, you can control everything from the image to the audio via manual controls
What I don't like video:
Noise at high ISO - With the stock lens 18-135 IS I do not recommend low light shooting, it will work, but its very noisy - just like photography better lenes with lower F-stops = better output.
Autofocus is a bit slow (I try not use the autofocus when actually recording, I usually shoot video with manual focus, its not that hard when you get the hang of it)
So that's it, a solid DSLR with a solid video camera built in, I would recommend this camera to people like me, who understand and love photography and also love shooting video. People who can use manual controls but you don't mind throwing it in program mode for the quick shots and you can't justify spending the extra money on a 7D. I am very very happy with this camera!
